This week is Gas Safety Week, a week that aims to raise awareness of the dangers of gas appliances that you will find in your house, business and in other public spaces.

As part of this raising of awareness, the FIA have devised a short blog that will guide readers on the dangers of gas to our health and property, signs that help identify carbon monoxide poisoning and how they can reduce the risk of hazards to life.

Have you shared your views on maintenance reporting practices across the fire industry yet?

The FIA Installers & Maintainers Section is currently gathering industry feedback to help understand current approaches, identify areas for improvement and inform future guidance and practical recommendations.

The questionnaire only takes a few minutes to complete, and your feedback will directly support the Section’s ongoing work around maintenance reporting best practice.

As a thank you for taking part, respondents will also be entered into a prize draw to win a place on an FIA 4-day training course of their choice.

👉 Complete the questionnaire: https://bit.ly/4zWNTJc

Please share with colleagues involved in fire system maintenance and reporting – the more feedback received, the more representative the findings will be.

The FIA and British Security Industry Association (BSIA) have launched a new joint Special Interest Group (SIG) focused on Martyn’s Law.

The inaugural meeting brought together professionals from across the fire and security sectors to discuss the technical implications and practical implementation of the legislation.

Through the SIG, the FIA and BSIA will bring together expertise from both sectors, encourage collaboration and help support industry readiness as organisations navigate the requirements of Martyn’s Law.

Insights and recommendations arising from the group’s discussions will be shared with FIA and BSIA members and the wider sector.
