Join us on 23rd April for our next Book Club session, as we chew over ‘Bellini and the Sphinx’ (Bellini e a Esfinge) by Tony Bellotto — a gripping literary noir and a first for our book club.

Follow private investigator Remo Bellini through the gritty streets of São Paulo, alongside the enigmatic Dora Lobo, in a narrative driven by intrigue, atmosphere, and a rich soundtrack spanning blues, Muddy Waters, Niccolò Paganini, and rock!

A celebrated author as well as guitarist and songwriter for the iconic Brazilian band Titãs, Bellotto brings a distinctive voice to contemporary Brazilian fiction. The event also marks World Book Night, honouring the legacy of William Shakespeare.

Bellotto was awarded the prestigious Prêmio Jabuti in 2025 for his novel ‘Wind in September’ (Vento em Setembro).

Please note that, due to ongoing refurbishment works at the Embassy, this session will take place online only.
