The Early Years Childcare and Education Department within Leyton Sixth Form College is a place of learning for passionate and committed trainee Early Years Educators aged 16 - 19 years at Levels 2 and 3. The department is run and lead by experienced and committed early years practitioners, health professionals and teachers who make children's play, learning, education, health and development their

priority. Our students are supported with both the theoretical and practical aspects of their learning and are encouraged to strive for success; students leave our care work-ready and with the skills to progress onto higher education to study degrees such as Early Childhood Studies and Education Studies at universities across London and the UK and progress to the PGCE or move into employment within the EY and health industries.

Good luck to everyone receiving their GCSE results today.

We are enrolling students from 10.00am; A' Level and vocational/technical courses available at Levels 2 and 3. Bring your results with you and speak to our subject specialists. .

If you don't receive the grades you wanted, remember they don't define you, take a breath, speak to your teachers or to one of our members of staff, and they can help you decide on the best alternative route for your needs.

You WILL get through this.

📚 Professional reading supports our ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD), and along with reading for pleasure, it helps to support the growth mindset of EYE practitioners. CPD offers opportunities to learn new ideas, skills and techniques, as well as explore, improve and adapt our current practice. Reading for pleasure offers opportunities to wind down, relax, escape and it reminds us to continue to love and explore all things Communication Language and Literacy (CLL) so we can impart this joy onto the little folk we work with.

Children learn from what they see 📚; this pile of books is Mrs. HTG's current bedtime reading. What's on your current reading list?
