Something a little bit different for our Army SJ Team this weekend, they trialled a Hybrid training & competition event. Training on day 1 and a competition on day 2.

Both days kindly hosted by the brilliant 🤩 after a great albeit it very warm training, the team came out in great form for the competition on day 2.

⭐️ LBdr Charlotte Pudge - Double Clear and 2nd Discovery
⭐️ LCpl Abbie Taylor - Double clear and 4th 1m05 Amateur qualifier
⭐️Bdr Olivia Taylor - Double clear and 5th 1m05 Amateur qualifier .oliviataylor._

We were also joined by Development Team riders SCpl Andy Mancy and CoH Rachel Wadkin’s who gained valuable@experience at the competition.

🏆Show Jumping Champion 2026

Pleased to share that our Army Champs Show Jumping champion 2026 is Dana Curle-Taylor, London Fire Brigade.

With our champions receiving vouchers thanks to the Worshipful Company of Saddlers, Saddlers' Company & Hall where they can spend their £400 voucher with any Independent British Saddlery 🤩

In Dana’s own words:

‘I am so grateful for the voucher and have already arranged for a bespoke bridle to be made and fitted. There is a 2 month wait for this so patiently waiting for the amazing KellyJ Leather so excited to have my dream bridle made’

Little round up from Army Championships 2026

📍Pickering Grange Equestrian

Show Jumping:
We had everything from 60cm - 1m 15 classes available with our Army personnel picking up 25+ rosettes across all SJ classes 🤩

Dressage:
With 22 different class types on the schedule for our Dressage riders, we had 31x rosettes won for our Army Riders across both days 🤩

🥇1st Place - 12 of our riders across all classes
🥈2nd Place - 12 of our riders across all classes
🥉3rd Place - 10 of our riders across all classes

Royal Windsor Horse Show 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ - The Kingdom of Bahrain Services Jumping Class

Her Majesty The Queen’s Challenge Cup presented to the winning Mounted Unit Team:

Congratulations to the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment’s winning team, HCMR Waterloo comprising of:

SCpl Martin & Goose
CoH Mancey & Webley
LCpl Taylor & Valentino

Off to a very strong start after Phase 1, HCMR Waterloo were already ahead and secured their win after SCpl Martin’s performance in the Phase 2 jump off.

Royal Windsor Horse Show 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣

The Queen’s Plate presented to the winning Non-Mounted Unit Team

A Huge Well Done to Army Team Marlborough placing 1st in The Kingdom of Bahrain Services Team Jumping after a phenomenal 2 Phase class.

The team consisted of:

Lt Ellie McLay (RAVC) & Quality Guy
LBdr Charlotte Pudge (RA) & Cassinaro Dream
Pte Charlotte Keers (RLC) & Western Ocala

LBdr Charlotte Pudge represented the Army Teams in the jump off phase 2, and what a jump off it was indeed.

A rather competitive course with the Forces Equine team closely behind the whole way through, right until the end as they took a very deserving second place. Well done Team Police.

All riders should be incredibly proud of themselves and their horses. Royal Windsor is not an easy ride with big crowds and Royalty Present, it’s not an event to underestimate. A huge congratulations to all our riders.

The first ASJT Competition of the year took place over the May bank holiday weekend at the British Showjumping Area 30 show hosted by
With a number of new riders on this year’s team it was the perfect opportunity early in the season for team coach to understand how our combinations managed in a competitive environment.
It wasn’t all plain sailing but with Mia’s guidance, riders opening to adjusting plans where required and a really supportive team environment the whole team secured improving rounds and results across the weekend.
Key results include:
🔹️Maj Emma Lee Smith AAC 3rd Discovery, 6th 1m05 with 3 double clears over the weekend.
🔹️2Lt Phoebe PLUMB RAMS - Double clear and 6th 1m05.
🔹️Bdr Olivia Taylor RHA - Double clear and 6th 1m05.
🔹️LBdr Charlotte Pudge RA - 5th and 6th 1m10 both with double clears.
The team were also joined by development team rider CoH Rachel Wadkin’s who got to experience a bigger environment at a multi-day BS show and finished with a confident double clear in the 85cm amateur class.
