Enjoy an exciting free, fun day inspired by books and stories at Stories, Sign and Shine - the annual Family Festival at the British Library tomorrow (Saturday, 17 October), from 12noon to 4pm. No need to pre-book.

Come and enjoy many wonderful and interactive family learning activities, performances and workshops based on the International Year of Reading.

It will be a fun and creative day celebrating the joy of sharing stories and exploring together. Activities will be signed in British Sign Language so they are fully accessible to D/deaf children and their families.

During Hate Crime Awareness Week, Camden's Leisure Centres took part in Safe Haven training, helping to create more safe spaces where people can access support when they need it.

If you’re feeling threatened, being harassed on the street, or simply need help to make a safe onward journey – you can drop into a Safe Haven in Camden and get support.

Look out for the Safe Haven sticker displayed outside venues or visit our website for a map of all the Safe Havens in Camden.

Join us for a Kilburn River Walk! 🌿

As part of Flood Action Week 2026, Camden’s Regeneration Team is inviting local residents and community members to join us for a walk following the route of the Kilburn River, which flows beneath Kilburn.

Come along on Thursday 15 October from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Starting at the Netherwood Centre, 5 Netherwood Street, NW6 2QU

Along the way, we’ll explore places affected by flooding, celebrate Kilburn’s existing green spaces, and look at opportunities for more greenery and better flood resilience.

It’s also a chance to meet others and share ideas about what a greener, more flood-resilient Kilburn could look like.

Can’t make the whole walk? You can join us at one of the stops along the route at a time that suits you.

The walk will finish at 1:00pm at Kilburn Library (Camden), 22 Kilburn High Road, NW6 5UH.
