The form is short. Six areas of council work, a rating for each, and then whether you would support paying more council tax towards them. Waste, streets and public spaces takes in recycling and street cleaning; transport and roads takes in lighting.

Both come up often around Regency Street and Hide Tower.

A really useful day at Paddington Fire Station recently for Westminster’s Community Resilience Day, organised by Westminster City Council and St John Ambulance.

There was lots to take away, from emergency preparedness and basic first aid to practical advice from the London Fire Brigade.

The council team were also there to make sure residents knew about the Budget Choices survey, which is now open and closes on 30 September. With the Government set to slash Westminster’s funding by almost 50%, it’s an important opportunity to have your say on the services and priorities that matter most to you.

Strutton Ground at lunchtime does not need a hire bike lying across it.

Enforcement figures reported to councillors last week show about 4,500 penalties issued to the hire firms since April, set against a little over 1,200 in the entire preceding year, and £250,000 clawed back.

Local councillors David, Selina and Ben would rather the bikes were parked properly in the first place than fined for afterwards. That is where reporting comes in.

From brilliant coaches and volunteers to local clubs, schools and community groups, these awards celebrate the people making a real difference across our communities.

There are nine categories to choose from, including Club or Coach of the Year, and Unsung Hero.

The Day of Atonement begins tonight at sundown and lasts twenty five hours.

After the council closed Grosvenor Playground earlier in August, your councillors David, Ben and Selina worked to get it safely re-opened for the school holidays.

There’s still some work to do in the longer term, but it was really important that children in the area had somewhere to play over the holidays.

David, Ben and Selina are really pleased that they could help get it reopened and will continue to work with the council on the improvements needed.

Save a Life this Saturday!

Join St John Ambulance, London Fire Brigade and the City of Westminster for a Community Resilience Day at Paddington Fire Station this Saturday, 5 September, from 11am–4pm.

There’ll be free first aid and trauma bleed training, emergency preparedness advice, fire brigade demonstrations and refreshments.

A great opportunity to learn practical skills that could one day help save a life. ❤️

Greycoat Street will be closed to vehicles between Greycoat Lane and Rochester Row from 8am on Monday, 24 August until 6pm on Friday, 28 August while water works take place.
