๐ŸŒŸ Empowering Women to Learn, Grow & Thrive ๐ŸŒŸ

We carried out a special Wheel of Life Assessment with our fourth group of women, creating a valuable opportunity to reflect on the different areas of their lives and understand where they are today. ๐Ÿ’œ

The Wheel of Life tool helped participants identify:
โœจ What is going well
โœจ What areas need more attention
โœจ Practical actions they can take
โœจ How to build accountability
โœจ Opportunities for personal growth and positive change

The training session lasted 5 hours and provided a safe space for reflection, learning and development.

And this is just the beginning! ๐Ÿ™Œ

We will continue the journey next week, building on what was explored and supporting our women to turn reflection into meaningful action. ๐ŸŒฑ

๐Ÿ’œ Learn. Be Accountable. Grow. Thrive.

โœจ HELLO SEPTEMBER | A NEW MONTH. NEW OPPORTUNITIES. GREATER IMPACT. โค๏ธ

September is here, and at Sapphire Employability & Wellbeing Academy, weโ€™re stepping into the new month with the same mission but an even greater determination to create lasting change.

From employability and wellbeing to skills development, youth empowerment and community support, our focus remains simple: creating real opportunities for real people and helping communities thrive.

๐ŸŒ Our Sapphire community continues to grow across the United Kingdom ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง, Nigeria ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฌ, Kenya ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช, Malawi ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ผ, India ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ and Cameroon ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฒ โ€” different countries, cultures and backgrounds, united by a shared belief that opportunity should be accessible to everyone.

September is another opportunity to take action, open doors, build partnerships, support one another and make an impact that lasts.

Whether you want to volunteer, partner with us, refer someone, support our programmes or collaborate internationally, thereโ€™s a place for you within the Sapphire community.

On 29th August 2026, our Sapphire Cameroon Team successfully delivered its first Liquid Soap Making Training session in Douala! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’™

This practical community initiative was designed to equip participants with skills they can use to generate income, explore entrepreneurship and become more economically independent.

During the training, participants learned:

๐Ÿงด Essential safety procedures
๐Ÿงช Key ingredients and their different purposes
๐Ÿซง How to achieve the right texture, foam, effectiveness and fragrance
โš™๏ธ The step-by-step liquid soap production process

๐Ÿ’ก Ways to turn their new skills into an income-generating opportunity

For Sapphire, empowerment isnโ€™t simply about givingโ€”it is about equipping people with practical skills that can continue creating opportunities long after a programme ends. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿพ

We are incredibly proud to see this work growing in Douala, Cameroon, and this is only the beginning. More community training sessions are coming! ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ผ๐ŸŒ SAPPHIRE MALAWI | COMMUNITY CLIMATE ACTION ๐ŸŒฑ

On 29 August 2026, Sapphire Malawi welcomed over 200 participants to our Community Action Climate Campaign at Mchenga School Ground, Balaka.

The campaign brought together young people, women, farmers, traditional and political leaders, government representatives, CSOs, community groups and development partners to explore practical, community-led responses to climate change.

๐ŸŒฑ Activities focused on:

* Climate awareness and resilience
* Droughts, floods and deforestation
* Sustainable farming and food security
* Tree planting and environmental conservation
* Climate-resilient livelihoods
* Briquettes as a sustainable alternative to charcoal

๐Ÿ”ฅ FROM BRIQUETTES TO GREEN ENTERPRISE

Our community has progressed from making briquettes by hand to using a simple machine. Our next goal is to secure electric or fuel-powered machinery to increase production, train more people and create sustainable income opportunities while reducing pressure on our forests.

The campaign was led by Sapphire Community Organization โ€“ Malawi, in partnership with Zipporah International Foundation, with participation and support from The Movement for Community-Led Development (MCLD), Azipola Foundation, government representatives and other community organisations.

๐ŸŒฟ Through our GREEN HANDS PROJECT, we are focused on growing greener communities, restoring our environment and building resilient livelihoods.

We are calling on development partners, funders, businesses and environmental organisations to work with us to expand this important work.

๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช SAPPHIRE KENYA | COMMUNITY, CONNECTION & IMPACT ๐Ÿ’™

Wednesday was a truly special day for Sapphire Kenya, with two meaningful moments that reflect exactly why we do this work: empowering people, strengthening communities and creating opportunities for the future.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพโ€๐Ÿ’ผ Empowering Women & Building Sustainable Futures

We had another wonderful opportunity to meet with women from two local womenโ€™s groups as we continue developing the systems and support that will help them build greater stability and independence.

Our areas of focus include business management and entrepreneurship, exploring ways to support access to health insurance coverage, and developing opportunities around an education fund.

We donโ€™t simply want to provide short-term support. Our goal is to work alongside women to establish sustainable systems that can strengthen their businesses, families and futures.

๐Ÿง’๐Ÿพ A Special Day at Kisumu Childrenโ€™s Remand Home

Wednesday also marked our first day of activities with the children at Kisumu Childrenโ€™s Remand Home.

Together with other partners, our Sapphire Kenya team spent time sharing, playing and creating positive moments with minors who are in conflict with or in contact with the law.

Sometimes impact begins with something as simple as showing up, listening, playing, encouraging and reminding a young person that their present circumstances do not have to determine their future. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŽ“ Celebrating Beverly

The day was also bittersweet as we said goodbye to Beverly, our intern, who has spent the past two months on attachment with Sapphire Kenya.

Beverly, thank you for your time, energy and contribution to our work. We are grateful that you chose to spend this chapter of your journey with Sapphire, and we wish you every success as you take your next steps.

Once Sapphire family, always Sapphire family. ๐Ÿ’™

We are incredibly proud of what Sapphire Kenya is achieving as we continue establishing our work, partnerships and community programmes across Kenya.

There is still so much more to build โ€” but every woman supported, every child encouraged, every young person developed and every partnership created takes us another step forward.
