Hello 9F Squadron family! 👋
We’re thrilled to be back and reconnect with you all after our hiatus. Over the past two years, we’ve been busy achieving great things, flying high, and strengthening our community ties. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:
👨✈️ New Leadership: We are excited to announce that Flying Officer Larwood is our new Officer Commanding. A year into her tenure now after succeeding Flight Sergeant Molloy, we’re looking forward to new initiatives and further successes from those already achieved.
🏆 Major Achievements:
* Wing Field Day Champions 2023: Our squadron demonstrated outstanding teamwork and skill, earning the top spot at Wing Field Day!
* Inness Sword Winners 2024: We continued our winning streak by clinching the prestigious Inness Sword this year. A huge congratulations to all our dedicated cadets!
* Football Competition Victory 2023: Our football team showcased their talent and determination, bringing home the victory in last year’s football competition in all categories. Well done team!
✈️ Flying High: Our cadets have been making the skies their own, with numerous successful flying experiences and exciting flight simulations. The addition of the VR flight simulator, generously provided by the Honourable Company of Brewers, has been a game-changer, offering an immersive flying experience and enhancing our training.
🏕️ Camps & Training: We’ve hosted several fantastic camps over the past two years, filled with adventure, learning, and camaraderie. These camps have been a highlight for many of our cadets, providing opportunities for personal growth, team building, and unforgettable experiences.
🎖️ Awards & Recognition: Our cadets have been recognized for their exceptional efforts and achievements. From individual accolades to team awards, we’re incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication.
🤝 Strengthened Community Connections:
* Honourable Company of Brewers: A heartfelt thank you for their support, including the donation of our new VR flight simulator and the funding support of our camps meaning more cadets can attend this great excursions. It’s been invaluable assistance for our cadets.
* Arsenal Partnership: We’re excited about our ongoing partnership with Arsenal. Their support has been fantastic, and we look forward to more collaborative opportunities.
❤️ Supporting Charitable Causes:
* Cancer Race for Life: We proudly supported this important charity event, contributing to the fight against cancer and raising awareness.
* Football for Our Services: We participated in this fantastic initiative, which aims to support and honour our service members through football. While also supporting other charitable causes such as when we helped support a charity match to raise funds for Grenfell Charities.
* Royal British Legion (RBL): Our continued support for the RBL has seen us involved in various activities to support veterans and their families. Including help raise money at Queens Park Rangers stadium where we provided a guard of honour for the players as they entered the pitch.
