Following last year's devastating arson attack at the children's play area, I'm delighted to share that the damaged slide unit and associated safety surfacing are now being replaced.

The installation of the new equipment is currently scheduled for 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟒 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟐𝟓, helping to restore this much-loved play area for local children and families.

Whilst the damage caused by the fire was extremely disappointing for residents, it's fantastic to see investment being made to bring these facilities back for the community to enjoy.

Thank you to everyone involved at the Council for making this happen. I look forward to seeing the playground back in use very soon.

At current funding levels, Staffordshire’s road backlog would take many 100s of years to clear. That’s the bit Sarah Edwards left out.

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱. 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰, 𝗯𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁.

Our Reform highways team have spent 14 months tackling a backlog the Tories left for 14 years. That’s graft, not gimmicks.

𝗔 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿, 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝘀

Sarah has never sat on a council. Instead of posing by a pothole, perhaps she could respond to our Cabinet Member for Highways’ request from 12 months ago for support on legislation to make utility companies coordinate roadworks better.

Still waiting.

Her government wants 8,600 homes in Tamworth. The borough can only realistically take around 2,000 — and that’s already too many.

Why isn’t Sarah campaigning on that?

We’re in the council chamber scrutinising, challenging and getting things done — while Sarah poses for the cameras.

Do the job, Sarah. Don’t just pose for one.

𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘁𝘄𝘆𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲

For years, Chetwynd Bridge has faced increasing deterioration while continuing to carry significant traffic. The bridge has been under restrictions since 2019, and monitoring has recorded more than 5,000 overload incidents.

Many of you will know this bridge well — it's a route plenty of you rely on to reach the A38 or the National Arboretum. That's exactly why getting this right matters.

Rather than kicking the can down the road, Reform UK at Staffordshire County Council has taken action by submitting a major bid to the Government's Structures Fund to help deliver a long-term solution. The proposal would provide a new vehicle bridge while preserving the historic Grade II* listed Chetwynd Bridge for future generations as a walking and cycling route.

𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆: this bid has 𝗻𝗼𝘁 been approved yet — a business case for the capital funding has been submitted to government, built from scratch by Reform UK, with a decision expected later this year.

Former county and borough councillor is already trying to claim credit. The facts don't back that up. Five years of Conservative control and they never once approached government for funding to replace this structurally deteriorating bridge — happy to keep it looking nice while it degraded underneath. We had a full bid in within a year.

Reform UK councillors at Tamworth Borough Council also played their part through the planning process, supporting the scheme and helping move this long-overdue project forward. Working alongside Reform UK at Staffordshire County Council, we're taking action to protect a key route, safeguard local heritage and secure investment for the future.
