It's Know Your Numbers Week this week, and we're encouraging everyone to check their blood pressure - if you're worried, you can make an appointment with your GP.

Expecting a baby? You may be eligible to take part in the Generation Study, a research study exploring how genomic information could help improve healthcare for babies and families in the future.

Recruitment is due to close in January 2027, and we are currently enrolling participants with due dates up to the end of February 2027 only.

We're excited to announce that our new chapel is officially open!

On Thursday 30 July we welcomed the Right Reverend Rod Green, Bishop of Stepney, to commission our new chapel. He led a service where the old chapel was decommissioned, and the attendees processed with the Pascal Candle to the new location.

We know the old chapel held many dear memories for so many people who have worshipped there over the years. We hope the new space will continue to bring comfort to our colleagues, patients and community.

If you would like to visit, just look for the entrance with the blue doors underneath the clock on the Jenner Building.

We're proud to share that Georgia Roskin, our Early Language Support for Every Child (ELSEC) Clinical Coordinator for North Central London, recently appeared on the DLD Project podcast.

In the episode, Georgia shares her unique perspective as both a paediatric Speech and Language Therapist and the wife of an adult with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).

Georgia reflects on how she recognised the signs that led to her husband Joel’s diagnosis, the strengths and qualities he brings to their relationship, and how understanding DLD has shaped their lives together.

Meet Hugo!

We're excited to share that Hugo, our brand new Robotic Assisted Surgery (RAS) system from Medtronic, has begun work as our newest surgical colleague!

We've now completed our first surgeries with Hugo in an exciting development for the Trust, following robust training for our surgical teams.

Alcohol Awareness Week takes place from 6 - 12 July. This year’s theme is ‘Alcohol and me'.

Alcohol Change have put together a short 2-minute quiz to help you explore the role alcohol is playing in your life. This could mean understanding more about your alcohol risk level, cutting back on how much you drink, experimenting with an alcohol-free experience or simply learning more. Amanda Gibbon has been appointed as our chair following a competitive selection process.

Amanda is no stranger to Whittington Health. She has served as a non-executive member of the board, having joined just after Baroness Neuberger in May 2020. She stepped up to serve as vice-chair in May 2022.

She is also a Non-Executive Director of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust since April 2021 where she is the Senior Independent Director.

She was previously a Member of the Human Tissue Authority, a Foundation Trust governor at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) and a member of the UK Donation Ethics Committee. She chairs the Biobank Ethical Review Committee for the University College London (UCL) Cancer Institute and is a local magistrate.

Amanda will begin her term on 1st October 2026 taking over from Baroness Julia Neuberger who has been chair since April 2020.
