President U Min Aung Hlaing Returns to Nay Pyi Taw
At the invitation of the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, President of the State U Min Aung Hlaing returned to Nay Pyi Taw International Airport on the evening of June 3, after concluding his official visit to India. During the visit, the President held meetings with the President of India and the Prime Minister of India, engaging in beneficial discussions aimed at promoting national interests.Upon his arrival at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport, the President was welcomed by senior members of the Union Government and responsible personnel. Officials from the Embassy of the Republic of India based in Yangon were also present at the airport to greet the returning delegation.Earlier, when the President departed on a special flight from Mumbai, India, he was seen off at the airport by the Myanmar Ambassador to India, the Myanmar Consul-General to Kolkata, and embassy staff members. High-level representatives and dignitaries from Maharashtra State also attended the airport to formally bid farewell to the Myanmar delegation.

Myanmar urges Timor-Leste to refrain from making false narratives to distort the image of Myanmar
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar notes with regret the misleading statements made by President of Timor-Leste, Mr. José Ramos-Horta, in reference to Myanmar during the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on 30 May 2026 and the ASEAN-ERIA Meeting in Jakarta on 2 June 2026.
Myanmar considers such statements an interference in the internal affairs of Myanmar and contrary to the fundamental principles of the ASEAN Charter, particularly respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference in the internal affairs of Member States. Such statements adversely affect the relations between Myanmar and Timor-Leste and undermine the spirit of the ASEAN family.
Peace process in Myanmar is highly complex, shaped by historical background, and involving multiple armed groups with diverse political, ethnic and economic interests. The Government is making committed efforts to national reconciliation and lasting peace through a Myanmar-led and Myanmar-owned process. The Government has repeatedly invited both NCA signatory and non-signatory ethnic armed organizations to participate in peace talks and has called on members of PDF terrorist groups to return to the legal fold and address their concerns through political means.
Contrary to the misleading narratives by Timor-Leste’s President, most of Myanmar is peaceful and stable. Security issues are limited entirely to remote border areas, where armed engagements have been strictly defensive responses to provocations by armed groups. Myanmar welcomes anyone interested to visit and see the country's peaceful conditions on the ground for themselves.
Myanmar strongly rejects the false statements of Timor-Leste’s President regarding Myanmar's internal affairs by exploiting the international platforms. Myanmar urges Timor-Leste to refrain from making any false narratives to distort the image of Myanmar and to uphold the principles and purposes of the ASEAN Charter as a responsible member of ASEAN.

President U Min Aung Hlaing holds talks with Governor of Maharashtra State
President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing who is currently in Mumbai, India, on an official visit, held a meeting with Maharashtra State Governor Shri Jishnu Dev Verma on June 2 at Mumbai Maharashtra Lok Bhavan Mumbai (Governor's House).
At the meeting, they openly discussed the good relations along the history as the two countries are good neighbours, the progress of friendly ties and cooperation, bilateral relations between the peoples of both countries, efforts of the high-level Myanmar delegation to further promote trade and investment between Myanmar and India, gratitude expressed by the Myanmar government and the people to India for its good neighbourly assistance when Myanmar faced natural disasters, and promotion of multi-sector cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by Union ministers and party, and the Myanmar Ambassador to India. The Governor of Maharashtra State was accompanied by state ministers, the Indian Ambassador to Myanmar and officials.
After the meeting, the Governor hosted the dinner for the President and high-level Myanmar delegation members. During the dinner, the state band played songs from both countries. After the dinner, the President signed the guest’s book of Maharashtra Lok Bhavan Mumbai (Governor’s House). The President and delegation enjoyed music entertainment of the state band. The President and the Governor presented cash awards and cordially greeted them.

President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing visits Jawaharla Nehru Port
The high-level delegation led by President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing visited Jawaharla Nehru Port in the afternoon of 2nd June. The President and delegation members were welcomed by the Trust Authority of the port Chairperson, Shri Gaurav Dayal IAS.
At the meeting hall, officials extended greetings that the Port Trust Authority warmly welcomed the high-level Myanmar delegation led by President U Min Aung Hlaing. They also explained the facts about the port, use of high technology machinery at the port, operations of maritime trade and measures of the port as an economic partnership of Myanmar, generating revenue from the use of the port for the nation, development of infrastructure and operating digital system, functioning the port as a green port, giving PPP model service, and conducting training to share port functions. Officials made clarification with a video clip on the functions of the port and a project documentary video clip on preparations to build the Vadhavan Port.
In response, the President said that as Myanmar is working on port construction, they visited this port, an international-standard major facility. The President stated that their visit to the port was for the purpose of observing it in order to upgrade state-owned ports in Myanmar. His visit was aimed to promote bilateral trade and Myanmar’s ports will be upgraded to further enhance trade relations between the two countries. He continued that if training courses on port management and related fields are offered, Myanmar would send trainees to participate.
Thereafter, the President and the Trust Authority of the port Chairperson exchanged commemorative gifts and took a group photo.

Shri Sanjay Malthotra, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India paid courtesy call on President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing
Shri Sanjay Malthotra, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India paid courtesy call on President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Min Aung Hlaing, who is in New Delhi, India, on an official visit on the morning of 2nd June.
At the meeting, they discussed the improvement of bilateral trade and the economic sector between the two countries, the promotion of cooperation in all sectors, and cooperation in banking services in both countries in order to ensure further swift and smooth payment in the trade process in a cordial manner. They also exchanged views on the ongoing process of Rupee-Kyat direct payment in the trade sector, efforts of India to share banking systems with the banking staff of Myanmar, and exchange of experiences in the digital payment system between the two countries.
Also, present at the meeting were Union Ministers U Khin Maung Yi and U Tin Maung Swe, Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Dr Khin Naing Oo and delegation members. The Governor of the Reserve Bank of India was accompanied by officials of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

President U Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently on an official visit to India, arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai on 2 June 2026, departing from Palam Air Force Station in New Delhi.
The Myanmar delegation, led by President U Min Aung Hlaing, was warmly welcomed upon arrival by the Myanmar Consul-General to Kolkata and staff, alongside Indian officials led by a high-level representative from Maharashtra State.
