About the Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung

The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung is an international, left-wing non-profit organization providing civic education; it is affiliated with Germany’s Die Linke party. Active since 1990, the foundation has been committed to analyzing social and political processes and developments worldwide. The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung is active at a time when our current political and economic system is undergoing multiple mounting crises. In cooperation with other progressive organizations around the globe, it focuses on democratic and social participation, the empowerment of disadvantaged groups, and alternative forms of economic and social development. Its international activities aim to provide a civic education by means of academic analyzes, public programs, and projects conducted together with partner institutions. The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung works toward a more just world and a system based on international solidarity.

The RLS London Office opened its doors in October 2019. For our first year we will be supporting existing left actors in the UK and Ireland across a range of issues with a focus on social rights, housing activism, climate justice, union organising and feminism. We will be working with around 20 organisations across the region, supporting their work and strengthening ties with left-wing organisations and activists in Germany and across Europe. We are very excited that COP26 will be taking place in Glasgow in 2021 and plan to support the climate movement and the mobilisations around the COP26 as much as possible.
