In an interview with the Communications team at the Commonwealth Secretariat, Finance Minister, Hon. Dennis Cornwall spoke about Grenada’s use of the Commonwealth Meridian to record, analyze, and report on public debt. The Minister noted that with this tool, Grenada is better positioned to manage debt, including economic and climate related shocks, identify avenues for debt swaps, and ensure greater fiscal resilience for the people of Grenada.

The Commonwealth Meridian is a modern, web-based software deployed by the Commonwealth Secretariat to help governments securely record, monitor, and manage public debt. One key feature is its centralized dashboard which combines disbursements, new loans, and loan statues into a single real-time repository.

To date it is used by over 45 countries worldwide, including Grenada, to manage combined debt portfolios worth trillions of dollars.
