A message from our Hainault Reform Councillor - Neil Anderson (Hainault ward)
Just a quick overview of some of the issues I've been dealing with since May:
Parking – I have raised a number of major parking issues with the council and continue to push for more robust enforcement of parking regulations especially in residential areas
Public toilets – There is demand for the public toilets on Manford Way and at the Hainault Rec to be opened to the public, even if only for use by disabled people. Unfortunately, this is something that the Council do not seem very keen on addressing at this time due to the speed with which newly installed toilet facilities are typically vandalised.
Road safety – a number of suggested changes to local road regulations, especially along Manford Way, are currently under consideration, but final decisions have not yet been made.
Water supply problems in August – I was on holiday when this occurred and was therefore unable to directly assist. Nonetheless, I am awaiting a meeting with Thames Water in order to understand why the problem occurred and what they are doing to mitigate the possibility of the situation being repeated. I will also be asking why the Council reported that everyone on the Vulnerable Residents list was being supported when it seems that this was not actually the case.
Jacques Hall Community Centre – I continue to keep a very close eye on this site as its current and future use are of understandable concern to thousands of Hainault residents
Manford Way ‘temporary accommodation’ – I am also keeping an eye on future intentions that the Council may have for this ghastly development.
Miscellaneous – I have raised multiple issues around rubbish collection, dangerous paving, planning infringements and incidents of anti-social behaviour and will continue to do so.
