Women affected by alcohol and drug harm often face overlapping barriers that can make it harder to access support, take part in services, and have their voices heard. 💙 These challenges rarely happen in isolation, they're often shaped by trauma, poverty, domestic abuse, health inequalities, caring responsibilities, stigma, rurality, social isolation, and involvement with multiple services.

Argyll and Bute Alcohol and Drug Partnership, in collaboration with SRC, is running a new series of online one-hour awareness sessions exploring these intersectional challenges and how services and communities can better meet women's needs.

The sessions bring together stakeholders, practitioners, community organisations, people with lived and living experience, and wider partners to explore gender-informed, trauma-informed and rights-based approaches that improve engagement, participation and outcomes. Delivered online to reach Argyll and Bute's rural, remote and island communities.

Recovery Month starts this now! 💙 This year, SRC is focusing on a simple idea: Building Recovery, Inspiring Hope Together.

Recovery isn't something anyone does alone. It happens in communities, through peer support, and through people with lived experience being trusted as experts in their own recovery, every day of the year, not just this month.

All through September we'll be sharing that work, and asking you to help shape what comes next for Scotland's Recovery Walk.

September is International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Month.

FASD is a lifelong condition caused by alcohol exposure before birth. It can affect a person's learning, memory, attention, physical health and social and emotional development.

This month is about raising awareness, reducing stigma and supporting those living with FASD.

There is no safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy- the safest choice is none.

Support is available: speak to your GP, midwife or health visitor for confidential advice.
