The Town Mayor sends his thanks following his Civic Service held at St Collen's Church.

As part of the service, the Mayor made an Act of Commitment to the town before lighting the Community Candle as a symbol of shared hope, unity and commitment. Members of the community and local organisations then joined in by lighting smaller candles, representing our shared responsibility and hopes for the future. Following the service, everyone was invited to continue the occasion over refreshments at the Town Hall

He said "I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended my Civic Service, and to all those who helped make the occasion possible and so special. It was wonderful to see so many familiar and new faces come together, both at the service and afterwards at the Town Hall. The day was a wonderful reflection of the strong community spirit we are so fortunate to share in Llangollen, and a reminder of the importance of coming together and supporting one another."

Fel rhan o’r gwasanaeth, gwnaeth y Maer ymrwymiad i’r dref cyn goleuo’r Gannwyll Gymunedol fel symbol o obaith, undod ac ymrwymiad ar y cyd. Yna, ymunodd aelodau o sefydliadau lleol ac aelodau o’r gymuned i oleuo canhwyllau bach, gan symboleiddio ein cyfrifoldeb ar y cyd a’n gobaith ar gyfer y dyfodol. Yn dilyn y gwasanaeth, gwahoddwyd pawb i barhau â’r achlysur dros luniaeth yn Neuadd y Dref.
Dywedodd: “Hoffwn estyn fy niolch o galon i bawb a fynychodd fy Ngwasanaeth Dinesig ac i bawb a a wnaeth fy nghynorthwyo i wneud y diwrnod yn bosibl ac mor arbennig. Roedd yn hyfryd gweld wynebau cyfarwydd ac wynebau newydd yn dod ynghyd, yn ystod y gwasanaeth ac wedyn yn Neuadd y Dref. Roedd y diwrnod yn adlewyrchiad gwych o’r ymdeimlad cryf o gymuned yr ydym mor ffodus o’i gael yn Llangollen, ac yn ein hatgoffa pa mor bwysig yw dod ynghyd a chefnogi ein gilydd.”

Llangollen Town Council have been discussing the possibility of re-establishing a Chamber of Trade and Tourism for the Town and surrounding area. Councillors are keen to understand whether local business owners would welcome such an initiative and importantly, whether there is interest in becoming involved.

We think the flowers on the Bridge and in the planters in the Town car parks and Castle street are looking especially lovely. Thanks to Tom from TLJ Services for keeping them looking so good, despite the hot dry weather we've been having.

With the soaring temperatures, we have opened the door to the Town Hall foyer to provide a cool space to get out of the sun for a bit. There are chairs in the foyer for you to sit down to take a rest while out and about in Llangollen today.
