It took Stu just 11 days to crack his cycle 300 miles in June target, raising funds for vital research into prostate cancer and in doing so, thanks to generous donations, he’s already raised over £1700. How amazing is that!

He’s carrying on spinning those wheels for Prostate Cancer UK right through to the end of the month to see just how many miles he can amass and of course, is continuing to fundraise along the way. If you are able to support him, every £1 raised will make a difference and is warmly welcomed 🙏👍

Been treating a vine weevil infestation today with nematodes. This is an environmentally friendly, biological remedy to tackle these root munching maggoty critters. You can buy them from suppliers like Green Gardener & you just water them onto affected pots , planters and troughs.

I’ve added pics of both the larvae & adult vine weevil so you can learn how to recognise them. But unfortunately, you often don’t know there’s an issue until the larvae have munched through the roots of plants…
If you find the soil of pot really infested, I
I suggest you skip the nematode stage and instead tip it all out, leave the birds to feast on the grubs, give the pot a good scrub and start again with fresh compost and plants.
