The Hidden Housing Crisis Facing Disabled People.
Across Wales and the UK, thousands of disabled people are living in homes that simply do not meet their accessibility needs. For many, everyday tasks that most of us take for granted can become exhausting, frustrating, and sometimes impossible.
Whether it's inaccessible entrances, unsuitable bathrooms, narrow doorways, or a lack of adapted housing, too many disabled people are being forced to live in properties that restrict their independence and quality of life.
This is a hidden crisis that rarely makes the headlines, yet it affects real people every single day. Access to suitable housing is not a luxury-it is a basic requirement for living independently, safely, and with dignity.
While dedicated charities, campaigners, and disability organisations continue to fight for change, much more needs to be done to ensure that everyone has access to a home that meets their needs.
No one should have to struggle simply because their home was not designed with accessibility in mind.
