Llanidloes deserves better than this. Under every option now being put forward by Powys Teaching Health Board, Llanidloes would lose all of its community hospital beds.

Our community has already shown just how strongly we feel about protecting our hospital and local healthcare.

We won’t stand by and watch these services be stripped away. We’re ramping up our campaign and we need Llanidloes to make its voice heard.

Figures show that Powys hospital beds were 91 per cent full on average across 2025, despite the emerging threats that beds in all hospitals apart from those in Brecon and Newtown could be cut.

Last night, Cllr Glyn Preston and I attended another important public meeting in Welshpool about the potential closure of hospitals across Powys. Thank you to Cllr. Richard Church Carol Robinson and Jane Dodds for organising.

We must stand shoulder to shoulder with communities who are in danger of losing these crucial healthcare services!

We heard yet more powerful and deeply moving stories from people whose lives were saved by our local hospitals.

It is very clear to us all...if you take away the beds, you take away the hospital. If you take away the hospitals, you are put lives at risk.

Powys deserves better.

What an excellent meeting, Llani at its best.

Thank you to all the speakers, everyone who stayed behind to talk, and everyone who has shared their memories of Llanidloes Hospital.

So many lives, families and stories are woven into those walls and behind them are generations of GPs, nurses, midwives and healthcare workers who have cared for our community.

This is our history. This is our community.

PTHB, hear us loud and clear:

WE WILL NOT GIVE UP!!

Buckle up. It’s going to be a rough ride!
