Three Llandeilo crew attended.

At 13:46, UK time, the time the first plane struck the North Tower of the World Trade Center, our duty crew alongside the divisions training department and the local command staff came together to observe a moment of silence.

Marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, we paused to remember the 343 FDNY firefighters and the thousands of people who lost their lives.

Our hearts go out to their families and loved ones. Rydyn ni'n cofio. ❤️

Over the last week or so, the crews at Llandeilo & surrounding area have been working tirelessly across the brigade area, answering calls to wildfires alongside everything else that comes our way.
With little to no rest, it’s undoubtedly been one of our busiest periods, and the effort, commitment and dedication shown by everyone to protect our communities has been incredible. 💪🔥

To respond so effectively to the fire while crews were also deployed elsewhere really highlights the professionalism and commitment of everyone involved.

🚜 A huge thank you to our local farmers who stepped in with water tankers and other agricultural machinery when the demand for water and fire breakers was at its highest. Your support, often at very short notice, made a huge difference and was massively appreciated by all the crews. It’s a brilliant example of our community coming together when it matters most.

But none of this is possible without the support behind the scenes.
❤️ To our families — thank you for putting up with the long hours, missed plans and alerters going off at all hours. Your support means more than you realise.
💼 To our employers — thank you for allowing us to leave work at a moment’s notice to answer the call. Your understanding helps us continue to protect our communities.
🏡 And to our local community — thank you for the care packages, donations, kind words and messages. Even a simple wave as the fire engine passes gives us a huge boost. 🚒👋

We’re incredibly proud to serve our community, and we couldn’t do it without all of you. ❤️🚒

🚒 Incident Update | Rhandirmwyn Wildfire | 13/08/26

Since 12:45 pm on Wednesday, 12 August, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews have been responding to a wildfire in the Rhandirmwyn area, near Llandovery.

Due to the scale, complexity and potential impact of the wildfire, a Major Incident has now been declared by Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. A multi-agency Tactical Coordination Group (TCG) has also been established to coordinate the response, support affected communities and ensure a joined-up approach between emergency services and partner organisations.

Firefighters have been working throughout the incident to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading further. Crews remain at the scene carrying out firefighting operations, while continuing to monitor and control affected areas.

As a precaution, a number of residential properties have been evacuated due to the fire's close proximity.

Cyngor Sir Gâr - Carmarthenshire County Council has set up a rest centre at Llandovery Leisure Centre for residents in response to the controlled evacuation of a number of properties.
