Willow House is a detached Georgian House set in its own grounds adjacent to park land and open countryside yet well placed to local amenities and easy access to local towns of Cleckheaton and Heckmondwike and motorways both by car and bus services. The home as its own gardens with paved seating areas and flowerbeds and all areas are wheelchair friendly whilst the grounds are secure for the servic
e user’s safety. There are two local shops within 10 minutes walk. The home is on bus routes that run to Heckmondwike and Cleckheaton and also Wakefield, Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield as well as been in an area well supplied with taxis. There are 30 bedroom all but one of, which are single rooms, each one furnished and decorated with character, and individuality and 22 are en-suite. Service user’s are free to bring own small pieces of furniture and personal possessions to enable them to personalise their room. All rooms have radiators with thermostatic valves to control the temperature to individual needs, a call point to summon help if needed, as well having a smoke detector and special doors to withstand fire. All communal areas have smoke detectors and call points as well as the home have the required number of fire extinguishers. There are three bathrooms one with a conventional bath but with adaptations, one medic bath and with hoist providing choice for the disabled and able-bodied. Toilets to suit both the disabled and the able bodied. The home has a 13 person passenger lift, two lounges, a dining room, a large heated conservatory with activity area and views of the garden providing both residents and visitors with a choice of seating arrangements. The home has cleaners on duty seven days a week working evey day from 9am to 5pm. Depending on individual preferences the home has games, books, videos, records and is also visited by the mobile library. An hairdresser visits once a week, an occupational therapist visits once a week, musical entertainer visits once a month and a NHS chiropodist visits every three months but a private chiropodist can be arranged if required at a small charge.
