After a detailed review and following exploration of a number of potential operating models, we have taken the difficult decision to close The Pods at Altcar Training Camp.

We know many people have supported the project over the years and we are incredibly grateful for that commitment, generosity and goodwill.

While this will be disappointing news for some, we believe it is important to be open about the challenges involved and to take responsible decisions about what can be sustainably delivered in the future.

Further information has been shared directly with those most closely connected to the project.

We’ve got two funding streams at NW RFCA and here’s what you need to know 👇

1. Trust Funds
Our Trust Funds are now OPEN and ready for your bids ! Trust funds have some unique criteria so check which one meets your needs from shooting to adventurous training.......

2. RGI (Regionally Generated Income)
Our RGI window is also OPEN.
This is the funding option to look at if there isn't a Trust Fund that works for you.

He's running ! Faz began his epic challenge yesterday and last night we got a 👍 , so we've concluded he's ok and still running !!

Faz as you would say ' you are a legend' 🫡

🐉💪 380km. 6 days. 16,400m of climbing.

This September, our Training Safety Officer at Altcar Training Camp, Lucas "Faz" Farrell, will take on the legendary Dragon's Back Race, one of the toughest mountain races in the world. Covering the length of Wales across six gruelling days, it's a challenge that pushes even the most experienced runners to their limits.

A veteran, runner and all-round grafter, Faz doesn't run just to stay fit.

"Running gives me that much-needed headspace."

Now he's taking on the biggest challenge of his life, not for himself, but to raise money for Merseyside Army Cadet Force.

Let's be honest...

Most people wouldn't even consider this challenge.

380km. Six days. Mountain after mountain. No shortcuts.

But Faz has said yes.

We're looking for a highly organised and proactive individual to support Merseyside Army Cadet Force. From helping manage cadet facilities and equipment to supporting safety, security and administration across the county, you'll play a vital role in enabling cadets and adult volunteers to succeed.

✅ Full-time position
✅ Work across Merseyside locations
✅ Mix of administration, estate support and operational responsibilities
✅ Driving licence essential
✅ Some evening and weekend working required
