We're very grateful to the Foundation Social Action Project group of young people who wanted to create a special day for children experiencing homelessness.

The group organised and hosted a trip to Anfield for the families staying with us, including arranging transport with Arriva North West and a fantastic goodie bag for every child. One parent messaged "Thank you so much for this evening, we all had a lovely time, really appreciate, kids had the best time."

Well, Volunteers Week has been busy as ever - we've had an amazing range of activities to celebrate and thank our volunteers.

Big thanks to:
📖Liverpool Central Library Liverpool City Council for the thoroughly enjoyable and informative tour and session in their archives;
🫂our colleagues at our Harm Reduction service for delivering some Trauma Informed Care update training;
⛏as well as the fabulous volunteers at Williamson Tunnels, Edge Hill
🌞and finally the rain for holding off just enough so we could enjoy our picnic in the park!

The biggest thank you, of course, goes to our volunteers - not just for Volunteers Week, but all year round for their hard work and dedication.

During half term we teamed up with The Country Trust to organise a "Plant Your Pants" session for the children at Yates Court. Bury a pair of cotton pants, leave for 8 weeks and then dig them up to see what has happened!

Many thanks to the community champion at Prescot Cables for the donation of soil and for the mums who helped to run the activity (and tidy up afterwards!).
