📰 NEWS: Traffic-free bike route from Childwall to Lime Street dropped by council despite public support

We were grateful to get the full support of Liverpool City Council for the motion we proposed on behalf of Better Streets for Liverpool committing to make our city safer so that more people feel confident to leave the car at home and choose healthier, greener transport.

We were particularly moved to support this new campaign group because of the poor delivery of cycling infrastructure which means that, despite £100m spent, people do not believe our streets are safe and fewer people are cycling.

Given the council’s commitment, we were shocked to see the results of the consultation into the proposed safer cycling route from Childwall to the city centre.

It’s been a massive week for the Big Green Spring Clean ☀️🚮💚

Some great shots from Aigburth, St Michael’s, Penny Lane and Old Swan. It’s been fantastic to meet so many new members, chat with people interested in what we’re doing, and clean up our city… and we’re just getting started!

It is entirely legitimate to call for an elected politician to lose their position, just as Reform's very own 2026 local election slogan was 'Get Starmer Out.'

Also, quite a surprise to see a party that is actively campaigning to remove human rights laws and dismantle equality protections in the UK now claiming 'hate speech’.

🗞️ NEWS: Green Party welcomes new councillors making positive change in the Liverpool City Region 🗞️

The Green Party has made historic gains at the 2026 local council elections, including 456 new councillors in England and Wales, five councils and two mayors. Along with 121 seats held by the party, this means a record 577 councillors elected this year, and more than 1,300 Greens representing people across the UK today.

In the Liverpool City Region, Sefton Green Party gained two new councillors, with Kieran Dams and Samantha Cook joining Neil Doolin, who was re-elected in Waterloo and Seaforth. All three got more than 40% of the vote, while Neil received 53.4% and finished nearly 20 percentage points ahead of Labour. There were many close runs here, including in Great Crosby and Norwood.

Knowsley Green Party welcome Ria Rembadi to their team of eight councillors as she won Page Moss with a 17% swing from Labour. Knowsley Greens’ leader Councillor Kai Taylor won 50.5% of the vote to secure his seat again in Prescot South and Councillor Cath Golding was re-elected in St Gabriels with a 43.8% vote share.
