It was great to be at the ‘A Future Joined Up’ conference in Liverpool yesterday, organised by the Liverpool Access to Advice Network.

Our staff member Fran D’Arcy was there to represent and share about the Manifesto for Hope project, meeting people from local government, education and the voluntary sector and sharing more about how people can get involved.

Fran, CTMR (Churches Together in the Merseyside Region) and Together Liverpool's Faith in the City Lead Development Officer, said: "It was a great opportunity to connect with so many local organisations and hear about the work happening across our communities. The conversations and presentations really reinforced the impact that community partnerships can have.”

Manifesto for Hope – Halton Community Conversation! Join us in Runcorn to reflect, listen and build hope together.

Church and faith groups, community organisations, civic partners and local services in Halton are invited to come together to reflect on how the Manifesto for Hope in our City Region can help address inequality and strengthen communities.

Is your church actually welcoming, or is it just polite?
Most churches would say they are welcoming and friendly. But what does that welcome look like in practice?

Our Radical Welcome course starting Oct 6th invites us to look again at how our churches work - and to ask whether everyone can genuinely participate, contribute and belong.

Instead of asking "How do we get 'them' to join us?", what if we asked:
"How can we change so everyone truly belongs?"

Join us for Radical Welcome, a free four-session course for church leaders and leadership teams, exploring how we can become not just more inclusive, but radically welcoming.

Eight churches in Toxteth and Wavertree have begun Together Liverpool’s Learning Community programme, which helps faith groups grow and develop social action projects.

The churches are all part of Hope Parish Liverpool, a new Larger Single Parish. Over four Learning Community sessions they will explore the needs and strengths of their local areas, identify opportunities to support local people, and learn from one another.

This is the fifth Learning Community to be run by Together Liverpool. Previous Learning Communities have involved churches in Huyton, Sefton North, Sefton South and West Derby deanery.

"It’s really great for building community..." Our latest Story of Kindness features Clay Kitchen, a Near Neighbours Church Urban Fund-funded initiative delivered by Live Better Liverpool CIC, in partnership with St Michael's church in Liverpool, and others.

This ten-week course supported young people aged 16 to 25 to develop practical cooking skills, preparing meals for themselves and others while training for a food hygiene qualification.

Participants also took part in pottery sessions creating bowls and plates to serve their food on, shared meals together, and cooked for Micah Liverpool’s foodbank cafe.

The Manifesto for Hope was never intended to be just a document. It is an invitation to churches, communities, civic leaders and organisations to work together for the common good.

We're encouraged that Liverpool City Council has committed to exploring the Manifesto's priorities and strengthening partnership through an interfaith forum and future collaboration.

Together, we can continue building a more hopeful, just and compassionate Liverpool City Region.
