As mentioned at Friday’s Well Connected event, we’ve recently launched our fundraising campaign with Cash for Kids Liverpool & North Wales 💜

Their work supports children and young people across our Liverpool City Region with money raised locally going directly back into our communities to help families who need it most.

While we were there, we caught up with Emily Maher from the Cash for Kids team to hear more about the real impact behind the fundraising.

“I see the real impact first hand and want as many people as I can in our city, supporting these children that need it the most”

From essential support for families to funding grassroots organisations, fundraising plays a vital role in changing young lives.

What came out of Friday’s Well Connected?

New contacts? A fresh idea? Or just finally putting a face to a name you’ve seen on LinkedIn for months? 👀

We were back at Pullman Liverpool with 80+ businesses in the room and a proper mix of conversations happening across the space 🤝

A big thanks to our speakers:

🔹 Joanna Rowlands, Liverpool Experience Campus - talking through their rebrand and what’s next
🔹 Emily-Jayne Maher, Cash for Kids - sharing the impact happening locally and launching our membership fundraising initiative 💛
🔹 Phil Brookes-Lennon, Bauer Media Group - breaking down how to actually reach the right audiences (not just more of them)

Different perspectives, but all sparked the same thing - conversations that didn’t stop when the talks did.

So… what did you take away from it?

And if you weren’t there… who do you want to meet at the next one?

World Environment Day and a category that actually walks the walk… 🌍

This year’s focus is on climate action - a reminder that real change comes from what we do, not just what we say.

It’s also a reminder that impact goes beyond one area - it’s about how businesses show up for their people, their place, and the planet.

That’s why People, Place & Planet, our category sponsored by the Growth Platform is such an important part of our Liverpool Innovation and Impact Awards.

In this video, Elena talks through what it’s all about - from creating positive workplaces and supporting communities, to thinking more responsibly about the wider impact businesses have 👀

“Great businesses don’t just focus on the work they do, they think about their impact, about doing the right thing, and doing it well”.

If someone comes to mind when you watch this - whether that’s your own business or another doing things the right way - get them in the mix.

Shot on the docks - because Talent Trailblazer, sponsored by RTC North, deserved a proper backdrop 👀

This time it’s our LSIP Employer Engagement & Project Coordinator Jane Clappison front and centre, bringing this category to life.

This one’s all about the businesses genuinely backing their people - investing in talent, creating opportunities, and building teams that go further.

“This is about businesses that are creating opportunity, building strong teams, and putting people at the heart of what they do.”

You’ll know the kind of business we’re talking about as soon as you watch it.

£25,000 raised and a real difference made across our city 💜

Over the past year, Liverpool Womens Hospital Charity has been our Charity of the Year partner. Together, the Chamber network have helped raise an incredible £25,000 - supporting women, babies and families across our region, and helping to successfully close the HIPEC Ovarian Cancer Appeal.

It’s a great example of what this partnership is really about - bringing businesses together to support something that genuinely matters locally and turning that support into real outcomes.

Their Fundraising Manager, Loren Slade, shared:

“Our Charity of the Year partnership with Liverpool Chamber has been an incredible experience for Liverpool Women's Hospital Charity. The support from Chamber members has not only helped us successfully reach our HIPEC Ovarian Cancer Appeal target but has also given us a fantastic opportunity to showcase the charity to the wider city, helping more people understand the difference charitable support makes to women, babies and families cared for at Liverpool Women's Hospital. Every event attended, raffle ticket bought, donation made and conversation shared has played a part in this success. We're hugely grateful to everyone who has supported us along the way and look forward to building on these relationships as we continue to support patients and families across our region.”

A huge thank you to everyone who played a part - we are looking forward to supporting them as one of our Chamber Patrons👏

What’s next…

As we begin the search for our 2026-27 Charity Partner, we’re working with Cash for Kids to keep that momentum going.

· £200 from Chamber businesses across June

· Funds distributed locally to families who need it most

· One member will receive £500 towards their membership
