Locally and nationally the use of electric E-Scooters continues to cause problems to communities with them being ridden on pavements and parks.
They are also a danger to the E-scooter drivers themselves when riding them on public roads due to their lack of protection and stability at speed.
Derbyshire Constabulary, along with Police forces nationally have been targeting area's where E-scooters are being used and seizing them. This includes 2 seized near to Littleover Police station this weekend.
E-scooters are illegal to be used in public and they will be seized under Sections 165A and 165B of the Road Traffic Act for no insurance.
They can be used on private land with the landowners permission, but not in public.
While you can legally buy them Online or from shops, they are not modes of transport that can be used like a pedal bike.
If they are seized they will recovered and crushed, and potentially a rider will get points on their driving licence.
