Our volunteer crew Bea and Simone were delighted to represent Littlehampton RNLI at an RNLI Women in Search & Rescue event hosted by Newhaven RNLI on Saturday (5 September).

The event, called Connect, Inspire, Support and Recognise Women in Search and Rescue, was a fantastic opportunity to meet fellow volunteers from the RNLI, share experiences and contribute to the discussions.

Parting is such sweet sorrow…

Today, the amazing Littlehampton East Beach RNLI Lifeguards are on duty for the last time this summer.

It’s been an incredibly busy summer for our lifeguard friends, so we’d like to thank every single one of them for keeping everyone safe on Littlehampton East Beach.

You’ve done a fantastic job and we look forward to seeing you all again next summer 🧡💙

SHOUT! Our volunteer crew were tasked at 5.30pm yesterday (3 September) to investigate a report of an object in the water off the coast of Bognor Regis.

Our Atlantic 85 lifeboat Renee Sherman launched and our crew conducted a search. Our D-Class lifeboat Spirit of Fidelity launched 40 minutes later to widen the search area. Both boats were stood down just before 7pm when it was confirmed that all was well.

Yesterday evening, our volunteer crew took part in a multi-agency training exercise with Littlehampton Coastguard Rescue Team Littlehampton Harbour Board Arun District Council South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust and Littlehampton East Beach RNLI Lifeguards.

During the training scenario, we all worked together to rescue and recover multiple casualties (they were actually lifeguards and man overboard training dummies 🤫) from the sea and ensure they all received the medical attention they needed. It was a fantastic opportunity to work alongside one another and share best practice.

SHOUT! Our volunteer crew were in action this afternoon (28 August).

We launched our Atlantic 85 lifeboat Renee Sherman just before 3.30pm following reports of a kitesurfer in difficulty 600m offshore from Worthing Sailing Club.

Thankfully, when our crew arrived at the location, the kitesurfer had returned to the beach safely.

SHOUT! Our volunteer crew were tasked at 7.39pm yesterday following reports of a paddleboarder in difficulty 200m-400m off the coast of East Preston. Our crew, on our Atlantic 85 lifeboat Renee Sherman, searched for over an hour from East Preston to West Beach, but all was well.
