💝🌸 Today we delivered our very first Chilgrove Care Package! 🌸💝

Our lovely recipient was Sheila, who is an amazing 89 years young! 🥰 Sheila was nominated after recently being unwell and spending a short time in hospital, so we wanted to give her a little surprise to brighten her day—and it certainly did! 😊✨

Her care package included a delicious afternoon tea with scones, Cornish cream, jam, butter, shortbread biscuits, fruitcake, and a selection of teas and coffee ☕🍰🍓. We also tucked in a few little treats to help her relax and feel pampered. 💐🛁

A special thank you to the children at Kids’ Club, who made Sheila a beautiful pom-pom flower posy last night 🌼❤️, and to Roma, who chose the card and carefully packed everything ready for delivery. 🌟

Seeing Sheila’s smile today made it all worthwhile. 💕 We hope she enjoys every last bite!

🎨🌸✂️ Another busy, busy, busy evening at Kids’ Club! ✂️🌸🎨

The weather may have had other ideas, but that didn’t stop us packing in plenty of fun! 🌦️💪

We got creative making beautiful wool flowers 🌸 using pipe cleaners, colourful butterfly faces 🦋, and practising our blanket stitch skills 🧵🪡. A special shout-out to Darcie who was particularly good at it! 👏⭐

Meanwhile, our three fabulous cooks 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳👩‍🍳 were busy baking delicious rock cakes for everyone to enjoy 🍪😋.

Following last week’s requests, cheesy chips were on the menu tonight 🧀🍟, followed by ice creams 🍦. The bubblegum lollies were a huge hit, resulting in lots of very blue tongues 👅💙 being proudly displayed to me at the end of the session! 😂

Time got away from us again, so we squeezed in a quick-fire game of 1, 2! ⚡🎯 Fast, fun, and if you’re out… you’re out! 😆

We also had a little helper assisting me with something very special for a very special lady tomorrow… 🎁✨ but you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out more! 👀🤫

🎹 FREE PIANO AVAILABLE 🎹

One of our lovely Kids’ Club mums is moving house shortly and sadly can’t take her piano with her.

The piano is free to a good home, but you would need to arrange collection and transport.

🍕🌟 What a fantastic first night of our NEW & IMPROVED Cook & Eat at Kids’ Club! 🌟🍕

This term, 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 two or three children will be taking turns each week to cook for everyone at the session, and tonight it was Junior and Montana’s turn ⭐👏

And wow… they absolutely SMASHED it! 💥💪

🍕 24 pizzas made
⚖️ Dough weighed
👐 Bases rolled
🍅 Sauce spread
🧀 Cheese sprinkled
🥓 Pepperoni added

With very little supervision, they got stuck in and worked brilliantly together. We were so proud of them! 🌟😊

Alongside the cooking, there was plenty of 🎨 drawing, ✏️ creativity, 🤩 chatting, laughter, and a lively game of 🎶🕺 Musical Statues! The children also managed to get outside for some fresh air 🌳🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ between the showers ☔🌦️.

And of course, no Kids’ Club would be complete without ice cream! 🍦😋 Tonight it was discovered that Harrison is definitely a chocolate boy 🍫😂 and he very kindly made sure there wasn’t a drop left in the bowl! 🤣🥣✨

What a busy day we’ve had at the Hub today!

Our Lunch Club members chose both their lunch and pudding this week, and the clear winners were a delicious ploughman’s lunch followed by banana splits for dessert. We’re pleased to report that every plate came back clean – always a good sign!

This afternoon, our lovely craft group got together for a crochet session. We’ve decided to make some tiny bonnets and comfort squares for newborn babies. These special little squares are often placed with mum before being given to baby, helping to provide a familiar scent and comfort. Once completed, we’ll be donating them to local hospitals.

In amongst all of that, we also held the exhibition for our Photography Group, showcasing the fantastic work participants have been creating over the past few months. It was wonderful to see everyone’s hard work and creativity on display.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make today such a success. The Hub was certainly buzzing with activity from start to finish!

We’re back with a bang after half term! 🎉

This morning our lovely ladies joined us for Sit2Fit and Shape & Sculpt, and this afternoon our SEND group helped test-run our new Cook & Eat plans for Kids’ Club. A huge thank you to them for being our pizza pioneers as we worked out the perfect dough recipe and portions ready for Thursday! 🍕👩‍🍳

Tomorrow is Lunch Club, with a much-requested ploughman’s lunch and banana split on the menu. We also have our local photography exhibition from 3pm–4pm, featuring photos taken around Wick—including a special snap of my childhood favourite, the Sun Wah! 🤣

Our Crafty Crafters are continuing their crochet journey this week, while Thursday brings our Pain Management Drop-In and the return of Kids’ Club. Then we’ll round off the week with Janice’s ever-popular Bingo on Friday. 🎨🧶🎲

It’s great to be back
