There has been some great work from Paul Connolly and the Parish Council to bid for some substantial funding to update and upgrade our tennis and football pitches in the recreation ground. To get this over the line, we need to prove to the funders that this is something the villagers want, and would benefit from.

I know we all sigh at filling out a questionnaire, but this one is brief and could potentially benefit you and the local community. Above is the link to the digital version. Please share this on your WhatsApp groups (etc) - the more responses the better.

Ed Horwell will also be handing out paper versions at the fete today if you would rather go "analogue".

There will be more opportunities to fill out paper forms over the coming weeks (watch this space).

Dear villagers, As you may be aware our multi use games area (MUGA) is in need of an upgrade, and numerous members of the community are working towards obtaining grant money from various sources to achieve this goal. For the parish council to do that, we need to assess if this is something the villa...

May Parish Council Elections - now is the time to find out more and consider serving on the council.

The role of our Parish Council and the way it manages and influences can have a direct impact on the lives of everyone living, working or studying in the village. As councillors we have the opportunity to help to make things better for the whole community, which is very rewarding.

Elections are the opportunity for new people to bring new ideas and energy to the council. If you have even the sneakiest inkling that you might enjoy giving something back to our Parish then come along to either the meeting tonight at 6pm or let us buy you a drink in The Lamb from 8.30pm. No question too silly - come and find out more about what the council does, how important it is to us all and how rewarding the role of a councillor can be.

**Improving our green spaces, upcoming elections and a free scotch egg**

A huge thank you to villager Mark Vallance and councillor Howard Harrison who spent time last week digging in ~40 hedgeplants at the recreation ground. They are a variety of native species selected by Mark (who also works for BBOWT) designed to improve habitat for our wildlife and increase local biodiversity.

Over the last year LMPC has improved the rec in other ways, including the planting of oak trees, investing in new benches and purchasing two football goals to be used by the school and others.

We hope to upgrade the floodlighting soon as part of wider plans for renewal of the MUGA - watch this space.

A well-functioning Parish Council is vital for the successful management of our shared spaces - with elections coming up in May we're encouraging villagers who might fancy playing their part to find out more. On the night of the March meeting (Weds 8th) we'll be kicking-off at the Pine Lodge a little earlier and then heading to the pub, where there will be a few £ behind the bar and maybe even a scotch egg or two for anyone interested in finding out more about how rewarding being a Parish Councillor can be.

If that sounds like you then why not come along to the meeting, or the pub, or both?

Hopefully see you there.

20 will be plenty - soon!

Our village's application for a 20mph zone was approved at an OCC cabinet meeting last week, we hope that signage and accompanying works will be completed before the end of April.

Huge thanks to everyone that has contributed, especially councillor Adam Sheppard who has lead on this for LMPC.

You COULD have the authority here Jackie!

Local elections are coming up in early May and this includes our village's Parish Council. Over the coming months we will be delighted for members of the village to put themselves forward to stand.

The OALC (Oxfordshire Association of Local Councils) is holding a free online session via Zoom to run through the basics of what being a local councillor involves. The next session is on Tuesday 24th January at 7pm, details and invite can be found here:

The days of the local bobby are long gone, but they have been replaced by teams of Community Support Officers (PCSO). Little Milton is covered by a team based in the Thame police station.

Their role is to provide local knowledge and to act as a bridge between the police and communities in support of crime prevention (NB. Highways are not part of their responsibility). Modern policing increasingly relies on information provided directly by the public, from which the police can derive intelligence, that potentially can then be used to take action.

We are very fortunate that Little Milton and many of the neighbouring villages have a history of low crime. However the Parish Council has established contact with our local officer in Thame as they can also help guide us and/or add weight to discussions with other government agencies around traffic, hgv’s, noise, the lay-by, etc.

Periodically the PCSO host open public meetings, “Have your say” for local residents to raise concerns about issues in their community or area. We have requested that Little Milton be included on the next meeting in this area, in case any of our residents wish to participate.

If you have a concern or information you would like to discuss with the PCSO please contact Thame Police station directly, or feel free to channel it through the Parish Council and we will pass it directly to the officer covering Little Milton (they do not wish their personal contact information to be published as they cover a large area).

Dear villagers

You may be aware that our case put forward for a 20mph limit through Little Milton was accepted earlier this year. The next stage before new limits can be implemented is the public consultation. Oxfordshire County Council has now opened this with a deadline for comment of Friday 9th December.

You can view the documents and have your say on the OCC website here: https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/littlemilton_20mph2022
