As we reach the halfway point of the year, officers in the Liskeard Sector continue to achieve positive results in tackling prolific offending and protecting local businesses.
Over recent months, three prolific shoplifters operating within the area have all received custodial sentences following proactive work by officers and partner agencies. This is through the combined hard work of patrol teams, the neighbourhood police team, the neighbourhood support team, the crime management investigation team and Cornwall Council ASB team.
Joshua PIPER-WILSON and Ayden CONNORS were also issued with Criminal Behaviour Orders (CBOs) aimed at preventing further offending and protecting retailers and the wider community. Harry EVANS, who already had a CBO in place, was further charged for breaching his order.
This is following the successful launch of UKPAC within our force area which is a scheme designed to tackle business crime by connecting local business, police and other agencies. UKPAC has provided businesses with an easier way to report retail crime and provided a platform for communication between local businesses and the police. If youโre a business local to Liskeard please consider signing up. More information can be found at https://orlo.uk/760hI or by contacting the Neighbourhood Team on [email protected]
We understand the impact shoplifting and repeat offending has on businesses, staff, and the community, and we hope that these recent success stories show that Liskeard Police will not tolerate retail crime.
We would like to thank local businesses and members of the public for their continued support and reporting of incidents and encourage members of the public to continue to report incidents to us so that we can achieve positive results such as these.
