Four years ago today, the nation fell silent as a remarkable woman, our Sovereign and Queen for more than 70 years, passed away peacefully at Balmoral.

Her lifetime of service, devotion and unwavering dedication to our country and the Commonwealth will never be forgotten.

Remembering Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II today, and thinking of The King and the entire Royal Family on this poignant anniversary.

Today Paul Givan announced action to level the playing field for hard-working families applying for funded pre-school places.

The current system of prioritising certain families is outdated, unnecessary and unfair โ€“ particularly when there are enough funded places across Northern Ireland for every pre-school-aged child.

He is taking immediate action for next year, while also consulting on removing the Socially Disadvantaged Circumstances criterion altogether.
