A huge thank you to A Good Yarn Heighington for giving the Jubilee Hall knitted tree a fantastic new coat with their Wizard of Oz theme.

The skill, creativity and attention to detail are truly amazing, and the display is a wonderful addition to the village.

The Parish Council would like to remind all dog owners using the Station Road Recreation Ground of their responsibility to clean up after their pets. Following recent reports of dog fouling, we reviewed CCTV footage and observed that the issue appears to arise when dogs are allowed off the lead and are not kept under close supervision. In an incident yesterday, a resident responsibly cleared up after one dog but was unaware that their second dog had fouled elsewhere, resulting in dog mess being left on the safety surface beneath our new swings. We are sure everyone will appreciate that this is not acceptable, particularly in a children's play area. If you choose to let your dogs off the lead, please ensure you know where they are at all times and check for any fouling. The recreation ground is a shared community facility for all residents, and we ask everyone to help keep it clean, safe, and enjoyable for all.

📢 Reminder to Residents – Station Road Recreation Ground 📢
A quick reminder that Heighington Millfield Primary Academy will be using Station Road Recreation Ground for Sports Day practice sessions and their Sports Day event over the coming weeks.
This arrangement is helping the school while essential works are carried out on their back field to resolve ongoing flooding issues.
📅 Dates the recreation ground will be in use:
• Wednesday 10th June – Practice Sessions
• Tuesday 16th June – Practice Sessions
• Thursday 25th June – Sports Day
• Wednesday 1st July – Reserve Sports Day (if required due to poor weather)
⚠️ Please be aware that the recreation ground will be particularly busy during these times, and some areas may be temporarily cordoned off.
📌 Reminder notices have been displayed on the field gates.
🐕 For those walking or exercising dogs, Potterhanworth Road Sports Field will remain available throughout, including for off-lead exercise.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we support this arrangement, which will benefit the children of our village and help ensure they can enjoy their Sports Day activities safely.
