Do you love visiting Cherry Fields? If you do, how about helping us with some of the maintenance jobs that currently need doing?
This coming Saturday (5th September) there will be a work party at Cherry Fields for all to join in. It will start at 9.00 and finish by 3.30pm. Feel free to come for all or part of the day. Find Barry or Nigel to get allocated a job. There will be a range of tasks ranging from those requiring strength to easier jobs. We will attempt:-
Moving the recently cut hay into the copses to provide habitat for voles etc. (Children welcome.)
Stomping the clay in the main pond to close up the cracks. (All welcome including children, but especially weighty people!)
Bike Track repair. (Children able to sweep welcome.)
Barrowing road planings to a few locations to cover the worn path. (Children welcome.)
Installing some fence posts at various locations using an auger and post knocker. (Not suitable for children.)
Children are welcome to assist but must be supervised by an adult at all times. The only task that they will not be able to help with is the post installation.
Bring your own drinks/lunch/snacks and wear suitable clothing and footwear, including gloves. There is a compostable toilet available.
