📣 Visiting Lincoln Castle this weekend? 🏰

As we prepare for this year’s star-studded concert series, please be aware that the grounds will be busy with activity as we transform the Castle into a music venue ahead of the first concert on Thursday 11 June. 🎶

We are still open as usual and you can explore the Victorian Prison, discover the Magna Carta Vault and enjoy stunning views from the Castle Walls. 📜🏰

‼️Due to the activity taking place, the grounds on this occasion will be cordoned off. The accessible route into the Castle will be via East gate only (The gate opposite the Cathedral). The West gate will remain open; however there will be a change in route, which includes steps. Signage is in place to help you and our team will be on hand throughout the day if you need any assistance.

As we celebrate our incredible volunteers at Lincoln Castle during National Volunteers’ Week, we also take a moment to recognise and thank the dedicated members of the Friends of Lincoln Castle.

They provide tours of the Bailey for our visitors to enjoy as part of their day ticket admission and provide guides for inside the Victorian Prison. Their passion and expertise help us to bring the Castle’s history to life!

The work of the group is invaluable and we thank them for their time and dedication to the Castle. Their passion and expertise make a lasting impression on everyone who visits.

Pat and Gordon signed up to volunteer at Lincoln Castle in a Visitor Experience Volunteer role for only 6 weeks … 10 years later they are still volunteering! ✨

They love coming to the castle, continuously learning about the history of the castle and Lincoln. 💕

At the castle they meet people from all over the world who come to visit and every day is different making it such an interesting place to work.

Pat says she gets all of the exercise she needs helping out in various places around the site, why would you need to go to the gym? 😁
