🚨 Safety Reminder – Blue Shelter in the Park 🚨

A safety concern has been raised following an incident involving the new blue shelter in the park. The structure has become a popular spot for children and teenagers, with some climbing up and sitting on the roof.

Unfortunately, one child recently fell from the top. While it’s hoped no serious injury was sustained, the fall highlighted the very real risk involved. The height of the shelter makes any fall potentially dangerous.

Parents and carers are kindly asked to speak with their children about the dangers of climbing on the shelter. Older children and teenagers are also encouraged to set a good example by avoiding unsafe behaviour and helping to look out for others.

The community park committee works hard to secure funding for equipment to enhance the park and ask that it is treated with respect. Please remember — it is a shelter, not a climbing frame.

Let’s work together to keep the park a safe and enjoyable place for everyone.

Many thanks to the donors of the new benches in the Community Park and also to the volunteer parishioners who installed them.

The benches are made from ♻️ milk bottles and have a 25 year guarantee so should last well.

📣📣📣📣Exciting News!📣📣📣📣

We’re thrilled to announce that our community park has been awarded ⭐️£9,000⭐️ of funding from WLDC for a brand new shelter (similar to the one pictured below)!

👭This shelter will provide a handy rest and hangout spot for all ages—whether you’re meeting friends, taking a stroll, or simply enjoying some time outdoors.

🛠We’re aiming for installation within the next 12 weeks, just in time for the summer holidays!🌞

🏞The park continues to grow and improve, with a couple of new benches also set to be added soon.

Bringing Our Community Orchard Back to Life! 🌳🍏

Today was a special day for Owmby and Normanby as we planted a wonderful selection of heritage fruit trees, generously provided by Lincolnshire County Council’s Trees and Woodland Creation Scheme.

We were particularly keen to plant local varieties to help restore our community orchard, and we think you’ll all agree—this is the start of something truly special!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the Christmas Tree Lighting event! 🎄✨ It was wonderful to see the community come together over mulled wine, hot dogs, hot chocolate, and mince pies. 🍷🌭🍫🥧 Thanks to your support, we raised £93.01! This will go towards new equipment, helping us host more great events in the future.
