We were honoured to attend the dedication ceremony for the new Lightbox Memorial to RAF Lichfield at St Stephen's Church, Fradley, alongside the Bishop of Lichfield, a Squadron Leader of the Royal Australian Air force representing the Australian High Commissioner, Staffordshire's Assistant Lord-Lieutenant, and many distinguished guests.

A special thank you to the cadets and staff of 1206 (City of Lichfield) Squadron RAF Air Cadets for their respect and integrity throughout this important event.

It was a privilege to play a part in commemorating their legacy and ensuring that future generations continue to remember those who served and gave their lives. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

BREAKING NEWS FROM 1206 (City of Lichfield) Air Cadets 🚨

🥞This week, cadets bravely ventured into the unforgiving wilderness of camp stove cookery, where temperatures were questionable, instructions were optional, and culinary standards were rapidly abandoned.

The mission: Make pancakes.

The result: A spectacular display of creativity, confidence, and complete disregard for conventional flavour pairings.

Highlights included: 🥞 Chocolate spread and marshmallows (acceptable). 🥞 Blueberries, biscuits, and more chocolate (borderline excessive). 🥞 A mysterious combination of strawberry, syrup, and what witnesses could only describe as "optimism."

🥞 At least one pancake decorated with the precision of a professional pastry chef and the nutritional balance of a small sweet shop.

Despite several pancakes resembling topographical maps, morale remained high and casualties were limited to a few egos and a bottle of syrup.

Squadron staff are pleased to report that all cadets survived the exercise and have now added "artisan pancake engineer" to their growing list of qualifications.

Proud moment for everyone at the 1206 City of Lichfield Air Cadets!

This weekend, our cadets delivered an outstanding performance at the Staffordshire Wing Air Cadet Athletics Competition, achieving fantastic results across multiple events and securing an incredible 3rd place overall out of 32 squadrons. 🏅

Quotes Of The Day:

Cpl A Perkins: Amazing performance from everyone involved and I hope you all enjoyed it!“

Sgt B Wilkes: Great to see such a diverse turn out of cadets from all categories today, I had a great day and I think i can speak for all cadets in attendance.“

Cdt S Njie: It was really fun and I had a great time“

The hard work, determination, and team spirit shown by all our cadets was exceptional, and we’re especially proud that several of our athletes have now been selected to represent the Wing at the Wales & West Midlands Regional Championships.

A huge congratulations to every cadet who took part and thank you to the staff and supporters who helped make the day such a success.
We wish our selected cadets the very best of luck at regionals — go and do Staffordshire proud!

Corporal Wooldridge, from 1206 City of Lichfield Squadron, was honoured to attend the Investiture Banquet for the newly appointed Mayor of Lichfield.

A fantastic evening celebrating civic service, community leadership, and the strong connections between our city organisations.

The City of Lichfield Mayor’s Cadet was proud to attend and support this important occasion.

Congratulations to the new Mayor, and best wishes for a successful year in office. Staffordshire Wing Air Cadets Royal Air Force Air Cadets

While waiting to regain access to our squadron HQ we thought we would aim high and head for the skies!

Today we were gliding at RAF Woodvale in Formby, Merseyside.

Changing winds and a low cloud base limited flying time, but every cadet still managed a couple of flights.

Padre Rev Andrew Stead also enjoyed a high and lengthy sortie — perhaps a word with a greater power helped keep him up there a little longer.

A great day of Gliding experiences for our cadets and staff.
