🚐 Could your organisation help people get where they need to be?

We have £500,000 available for community transport projects across Lichfield District – and there are just a few days left to apply.

Community transport can provide a lifeline where public or commercial transport is limited, unavailable or simply doesn’t meet people’s needs.

We’re looking for not-for-profit, community-led or volunteer-supported ideas that could help local people get around and stay connected.

Organisations can apply for between £1,000 and £25,000 per year, with funding available for three years from 2027 to 2030.

💡 Got an idea? We’d really like to hear from you. Applications close this Thursday, 10 September.

What a night, Lichfield! ❤️

We’ve finished off this evening having welcomed thousands of you to Beacon Park for the 27th Lichfield Proms – and what an atmosphere it was.

From the music and singing to the flags, fireworks and some seriously impressive table set-ups, you made the park look and feel incredible.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us, and to all of the performers, sponsors, traders, staff, volunteers and teams behind the scenes who made tonight possible.

27 years of Proms in Beacon Park – and nights like this remind us exactly why we do it.

What an atmosphere. What a district.

When we were alerted to unauthorised development at Muckley Corner over the Bank Holiday weekend, our team acted within hours.

Our Planning Enforcement team responded on Saturday afternoon, attending the site and serving a Temporary Stop Notice to stop any further unauthorised work.

Despite that notice, further activity has since taken place.

We’re now taking further enforcement action, requiring the unauthorised development to stop and the land to be returned to how it was before.

We know how important it is to residents that we act quickly when serious planning issues arise – and that’s exactly what our team did.

We’ll continue to monitor the site and keep residents updated.

🎶 Heading to Lichfield Proms tomorrow? Here’s everything you need to know..

The stage is going up, the forecast is looking good and we’re nearly ready to welcome you to Beacon Park for one of Lichfield’s biggest nights of the year.

🎡 Fun fair and food & drink village open from 3pm
🎺 City of Lichfield Band from 6.00pm
🎶 An evening of live music, entertainment and, of course, our spectacular fireworks finale

Pack your picnic, bring your chairs and blankets – and if you’re making a night of it, don’t forget the table decorations, lights and all the little extras! ✨
