Fantastic work today in our walled garden as we started to clear the former greenhouse area from debris, (more photos to follow soon)… but until then let’s celebrate the first flower which was seen today on one of our new David Austin roses that we planted last autumn with thanks to the funding from the 🌹

As our 25th Snowdrop season came to an end in February we were checking over our snowdrops and were amazed to discover these two little beauties amongst a carpet of snowdrops at the back of the grounds.💙 💙

For the past month we have had snowdrop experts examining the two specimen’s bulbs, taking soil samples, tracking what other flora is near by so that it can be established what has caused the change in colour.

Professor G. Wall reports “We are thrilled to share the news that the specimen has been verified as a unique variety to Bank Hall and we are planning to officially named it as ‘Galanthus Caeruleus’ or a ‘Bluedrop’.”

“We shall continue to study the site over the next few years to find out why this phenomenon could have happened, but one theory is a potential cross pollination with the many Bluebells on site. The cool dry climate we have had this winter has made the snowdrops last longer and the quick increase in temperature has seen the bluebells coming out sooner.” 🌱✨💙

🐰Easter Bunny Hunt, Saturday 4th April
12pm-4pm.

Come and explore the Bank Hall gardens on Saturday 4th April 2026 for the annual Easter Bunny Hunt. Find all the Easter bunnies hidden around our woodland and win a chocolate Easter egg!

🌼 During April there are usually Daffodils, Primroses and Bluebells in the grounds to see on the woodland walk.

🎟️ Gardens - Pay on the gate entry.
Adults £3, Children under 16 FREE (cash and card payments accepted)

🐰 Easter Bunny Hunt £2.50 per child taking part. Children participating will receive an Easter Egg on completing the trail. (Limited spaces on a first come basis).
