Last year, 429 residents told us about their concerns in the Community Safety Survey. The main issues raised were:
• drug- and alcohol-related harm reduction
• tackling serious violence
• improving road safety
• addressing anti-social behaviour

We are carrying out a training exercise in Albourne Close, , this morning between 1000am and 1230pm, Tuesday 9 June 2026.

Don't be alarmed if you see lots of firefighters and fire engines in the area!

Over the weekend, there has been some damage caused to the mirrors on the outside of Preston Circus Fire Station either side of the appliance bay doors.

These mirrors are vital to assist in the safe movement of our fire engines when leaving the fire station.

CCTV is being examined but we would ask if anyone has any information to report to Sussex Police by calling 101 and quote reference number: 47260138352

📢It's National Licensing Week 2026! Positive partnership sits at the heart of effective licensing regulation.

👥 We have recently been collaborating with local partners to educate licensed premises on Written Fire Safety Arrangements.
Responsible or Accountable Persons must ensure that Written Fire Safety Arrangements are in place the moment a premises is occupied.

It is Day 1 of National Licensing Week 2026 and the theme is Positive Partnerships.

Think Pubwatch. Best Bar None. Community Alcohol Partnerships. Purple Flag. Primary Authority. These are real, longstanding examples of licensing professionals, businesses, police, and communities getting round the table and making things work.

Partnership is not just nice to have in licensing. The statutory guidance under the Licensing Act 2003 expects it. And when it is done well, it makes a genuine difference to communities right across the UK.

Got a fave dish? Burgers? Kebabs? Bananas?! If you’re firing one up, keep it away from sheds, fences and trees!

Keep a bucket of water, sand or garden hose nearby but always dial 999 in an emergency.
