Lewes Town Council Community Venues

Lewes Town Council Community Venues Official page for Lewes Town Hall, All Saints Centre and Malling Community Centre The Council has been directly-managing the All Saints Centre since that time.

Lewes Town Council currently owns and manages three Community Centres: Lewes Town Hall on the High Street, the All Saints Centre on Friar's Walk, and the newly regenerated Malling Community Centre on Spences Lane. A brief history of All Saints...
In September 1980 the redundant church of All Saints was given to Lewes Town Council to be used as a Community, Arts and Youth centre. For twenty years t

he centre was run by the charity known as the All Saints Youth & Arts Trust, who were granted a lease by the Town council. In 2001, the Trust dissolved and handed the lease of the building back to Lewes Town Council. All Saints Centre is a hybrid venue functioning as both as a Village Hall and a Performing Arts Space. As the All Saints is currently run as a venue to hire, its strength will lie in being a flexible, affordable, multi-use space.

Together with our colleagues at the Lewes Astronomical Society we're delighted to announce we are organising a Lewes Space Day: this is an afternoon of astronomy talks, with a cafe/bar and book seller, at All Saints, on Saturday 21st March.

This event is open to the public, and free for kids and students.

We’re delighted to have the brilliant communicator and scientist Prof Lucie Green headlining. Along with Dr Steven Banham from Mars Curiousity, plus Dr Eva-Maria Mueller, and Dr Penny Wozniakiewicz.

Tickets are on sale, NOW:

A single talk is only £4.

And tickets reduce by 50p for each additional talk you come to. So it’s £4 for one, £7 for two, £9 for three, and £10 for all four talks.

The afternoon opens with a musical comedy performance from local legend John Hinton, who is hugely popular with kids. Tickets for his show are £5.

Good news! The main hall at All Saints Centre will be re-opening in January 2026 and will be taking bookings once again.

The main hall has been closed since 14 November 2025 following professional advice so that we could investigate an issue around the historic building’s structure. Since then, we’ve been working with hirers of the hall to find alternative venues, as well as a structural engineer on what needed to be done.

Lizzie Zeyfert, manager at All Saints Centre said: ‘We’re thrilled to be able to announce this and thank you again to our hirers and people affected by these changes in the past few weeks for your continued patience and understanding whilst the main hall has been closed.

‘We’re really excited that we can welcome people back to the hall, it’s a real part of the community and we’ve missed having people in that space, so thank you to the team at the town council and the contractors who’ve been working flat out to make this a possibility as soon as we could.’

To get the full story and more detail about what's happened or changed to the main hall, visit the Lewes Town Council website https://www.lewes-tc.gov.uk/2025/12/all-saints-centre-re-opening-in-january-2026/
