From Saturday 30th May our sauna will be open for business! The sauna will be bookable as an addition to your swim, and the booking system will go live on our website ASAP.

Opening times for 2026
Spring Season 18 April 2026 to 24 May 2026

Monday to Friday
7am to 10am: Early morning lane swimming (one hour sessions)
10am to 11am: Gentle morning swim
11am Pool closed

Mondays and Fridays afternoon session as well as mornings
4pm to 7pm: Open session (with at least one lane)

Saturday and Sunday
8am to 11am: Early morning lane swimming (one hour sessions)
11am to 12pm: Pool closed
12pm to 3pm: Open session (with at least one lane)

Remember to pop down and say Hello on Saturday 4th April at our drop in community day 10am till 2pm.
Our booking system will go live for you to be available to purchase your 2026 season passes. Team Pells Pool cant wait to have you back swimming with us.

Visit the exhibition of the future vision of Pells Pool at Lewes Town Hall

Thank you to everyone who's commented on our future vision for Pells Pool.

Proposals (full details of which can be viewed on our website) would be sympathetic to the current design of the Pells and would protect the unique character of the pool. They include refurbishing the kiosk and keeping its iconic signage.

These proposals are by no means finalised, and also include updating the changing rooms and accessible facilities, building a new pump room and providing modern staff facilities at the northern end of the pool, behind the sun terrace.

We're holding an exhibition at Lewes Town Hall until 30 April 2026, where you can view the proposals and leave comments.

We’ll also be manning the exhibition boards on 25 March 2026 (5:30-8:30pm) and on 2 April 2026 (4:30-8:30pm), so please come along during those times to discuss the proposals in person.

We’d like to invite everyone to our Pells Community Day on Saturday, 4 April 2026, from 10am to 2pm.

The team has been busy getting everything ready for the new season, so we don’t need any jobs doing on the day, but we’d still love to see you.

So, pop in for a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake and catch up with the team and with fellow Pells swimmers and get your hands on some wonderful Pells merchandise!

We’re delighted to share our future vision for Pells Pool, which aims to protect the pool’s unique character, while making improvements based on feedback from swimmers, visitors and staff over the past two years. We welcome comments on the proposals. Check out our website

Now the dust has settled on an incredible end to the 2025 season, we have one of the biggest thank you’s Pells Pool has ever said.

Toby has just finished his 8th season at Pells, starting at the age of 16 as a young, shy and slightly nervous lad (I’m sure he won’t mind us saying that). Toby has now become etched within the memory of so many Pells swimmers and certainly all of the staff who have been lucky enough to work with him.

Toby would always walk in with a cheeky grin on his face, he was someone you could depend upon, someone who could find a positive in any situation. But most notably, someone who could crack a joke at anything, albeit usually an awful one liner.

Toby is currently in New Zealand, where he will be residing for the next 9 months or so before making his return to the UK (he has promised us) to explore whatever chapter lies ahead of him next.

The legacy he will leave on Pells is truly special. If any of you have a story to share with us or a message to give to Toby please do!
