There’s a rather unexpected visitor coming to our Castle… 🦞

As part of this year’s Artwave Festival, we’ll be welcoming Philip Colbert’s Daydreamer (Seated Lobster) – 2020, to the Castle grounds from 11–13 September🏰

Known for his distinctive cartoon lobster persona, Colbert has developed a global following for his bold and playful work – and Daydreamer should make quite the contrast against the historic surroundings of Lewes Castle!

in 1915 Lewes Castle was first designated as a listed building. Originally constructed around 1067, part of it's uniqueness is that it is a motte and bailey design but with two mottes, instead of the standard one. The only other such design in the country is Lincoln Castle.
