This Pride Month, we celebrate the diversity, strength, and contributions of LGBTQ+ people in our communities.

We send our warmest wishes to our LGBTQ+ colleagues, the people we support, our partners, and everyone we work alongside across Sussex and beyond.

Pride is a time to celebrate identity, visibility, and progress. It is also a time to recognise that many LGBTQ+ people and their allies remain concerned about rights, freedoms, protections, and the ability to live openly, safely, and with dignity.

At Southdown, we are proud to stand alongside LGBTQ+ people and communities, not only during Pride Month, but throughout the year.

Happy Pride Month from all of us at Southdown.

After receiving a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD, one client found themselves struggling with overwhelm at work, long hours, and the emotional impact of processing their diagnosis.

With support from our Employment Specialist, they were able to better understand their neurodiversity and put reasonable adjustments in place at work.

They also built healthier working boundaries and regained confidence in managing both work and mental health.

Reflecting on the support they received, the client shared:
“Understanding my diagnosis has been empowering… with the support of my Employment Specialist, occupational therapists, The Recovery College, and my workplace, I feel I’m in a much better place moving forward.”

Stories like this show how person-centred employment support can make a meaningful difference. It helps people feel understood, supported and able to thrive in work.

We are looking for new Board Members to help shape the future of Southdown.

We are currently recruiting for:
• Two roles on our Audit and Risk Committee — seeking a finance professional with strong audit expertise, and a housing development professional with Registered Provider experience
• One role on our People, Pay & Culture Committee — seeking a senior HR or organisational development leader

This is an opportunity to bring your expertise to an organisation supporting people across Sussex through housing, mental health and care services — helping guide strategy, strengthen governance and make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.

If you believe in inclusive, values-led leadership and can bring strategic insight and constructive challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
