Hello all,
As I'm sure you know, we are lucky to still have a library in Leominster, many areas have lost theirs due to cuts over the last few years. This is partly due to the support the library receives from the local community and the numbers who are library members, and also because of campaigning by the Friends of Leominster Library (FOLL) and similar groups around Herefordshire.
FOLL also raises funds to support activities at the local library, especially for children and young people, and to purchase items such as new chairs, a mike stand and recently the new library tablets. We do this by hosting meetings and other events twice a year. Last year we invited Ellie Chowns MP to come and speak and also hosted a Poetry Slam, both very well attended.
For our first event this year we have invited Kasia D***s to speak on 'The Life of a Funeral Director: Dispelling the Myths' which promises to be both entertaining and enlightening. This will be at the library on Friday 20th March at 7pm, tickets £6.00, available from the TIC or direct from me (07961795466). I do hope you can join us. I have attached a poster for this event and would really appreciate it if you can share/post it and help us promote it in any other way.
If you are not already a member of FOLL, please do consider joining us. You can pick up a membership form next time you visit the library.
Thank you,
Felicity Norman
Chair of FOLL

Free business support comes to the heart of Leominster

Businesses in and around Leominster can now access free advice, support and workspace in the town centre, following the launch of the new Leominster Business Hub at Leominster Library.

The Hub offers local businesses the chance to:

🔴 Speak directly with a Growth Hub Officer
🟢 Get guidance on grants, finance and business support
🔵 Use meeting rooms, co-working space, hot-desking and high-speed Wi-Fi at low or no cost

The Business Hub is part of Herefordshire Council’s wider approach to supporting local economic growth and connecting businesses to the Herefordshire Growth Hub network, providing access to specialist advice and tailored support.

Councillor Jonathan Lester, Leader of Herefordshire Council, said:
“By bringing the Business Hub to the heart of Leominster, we’re making business support more visible, more accessible and part of everyday town centre life. This is about building a supportive business community that helps Leominster and Herefordshire thrive.”

Drop-in support: Mondays and Fridays, 10am–12pm (upstairs in Leominster Library)
Workspace available: During library opening hours on Mondays and Fridays
Private room bookings: Email [email protected] at least one week in advance
