Herefordshire's Viking treasure is heading to national TV
The Herefordshire Hoard will feature on BBC One's Bargain Hunt on Friday 12 June, after presenter Roo Irvine and the programme team visited Herefordshire Council's History Store to film the remarkable collection of Viking-era coins and jewellery
The episode will also showcase Leominster's Secondhand Antiques Centre, highlighting more of Herefordshire's rich heritage and thriving antiques scene
Tune in to Bargain Hunt on BBC One on Friday 12 June to see the Herefordshire Hoard take centre stage

Families in the Leominster area can now enjoy a new outdoor sensory garden and free Stay and Play sessions at Coningsby Family Hub
Designed for children aged 0–5 and their parents or carers, the sessions offer a welcoming space to play, learn and connect while supporting children's development through fun, play 🔽 based activities
The free sessions take place every fortnight on Tuesdays from 1pm to 2.30pm and will be rolled out across family hubs and libraries across Herefordshire

🛶 Vikings at The Priory 27th May - 22nd June 2026
Leominster Town Council are pleased to support Vikings at the Priory, a month long celebration of Viking and Anglo Saxon culture at . There are lots of exciting events happening over the next few weeks as part of Vikings at the Priory including a free re-enactment weekend with this weekend - 30th and 31st May🗡🛡

The Viking Raiders are in Town! Make sure that you are in the Priory at 11.30am for a Viking Burial and in the Grange at 3pm for a battle with the Saxons!

Looking at these two shields it looks like they have been in battle before and mean business.

It has come to our attention that a letter in The Hereford Times 28/05/2026 states that ‘Leominster Council has not renewed the licence for the Post Office’ with the implication that this has led to its planned closure.
Leominster Town Council has no authority to renew a Post Office licence and is strongly supporting the retention of Leominster’s Post Office.
