🌞🏖️ Year 5 Spanish Fun! 🇪🇸 🏖️🌞

Today, our Year 5 pupils had a fantastic time learning Spanish through a fun and interactive beach game! 🎲☀️

The children practised miming and saying different activities you might do at the beach 🏊‍♂️🏄‍♀️🍦—from swimming and surfing to eating ice cream! 😄

It was great to see everyone getting involved, building their confidence in speaking Spanish, and having lots of laughs along the way! 👏🎉

Year 1 had a fantastic time at RHS Bridgewater 🌿🌸. They loved exploring the beautiful gardens and learning all about plants during the workshop 🌱📚. The children were especially excited to take their seeds home and can’t wait to see if their bean plants grow. 🌼🫘✨

6S have enjoyed a well-deserved bit of chill time this afternoon! 🌟🎉

After working incredibly hard on their writing this week ✍️📚, the children were rewarded for their fantastic effort, dedication, and positive attitudes towards learning. Their commitment and perseverance have truly shone through, and we are so proud of everything they have achieved! ⭐👏

As part of their reward, they spent time enjoying a variety of games with their friends, including Uno 🃏, Jenga 🧱, Snap 👏, and other card games ♠️♥️, as well as getting creative with some colouring activities 🎨🖍️.

To make the celebration even more special, this treat was also in recognition of 6S achieving an amazing 100% attendance last week! 🏆🙌 What a fantastic accomplishment!

Well done, 6S! Keep up the incredible hard work and dedication – you've certainly earned it! 💙🌟😊

🎵 A Musical Break! 🎵

Year 6 enjoyed a well-earned break from their writing today by practising their ukulele skills 🎶

It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm, teamwork, and creativity as they played together. These moments are so important for keeping balance during a very busy term!

They are all working incredibly hard, and we are extremely proud of every single one of them 👏✨

Oral language plays a vital role in children’s learning, literacy and social and emotional development.

On Friday, Reception had been busy in RE, exploring special stories and sacred texts.

They looked at the Bible and the Torah and discussed why these books are important to different faith communities. The children enjoyed learning about what makes a text sacred and sharing their thoughts and ideas.

They then talked about stories that are special to us and created beautiful book covers inspired by our favourite books. It was wonderful to see the children's creativity and hear them explain why their chosen stories mean so much to them.

A big thank you to Sean Gaffney for his inspirational visit today. Sean shared his passion for fitness and motivating young people, encouraging our pupils to challenge themselves and keep going when things got tough.

It was wonderful to see so many determined (and slightly worn-out!) children showing real perseverance with the fitness challenges, supported brilliantly by Sean and his team.

We are also incredibly grateful to those parents who have already completed their sponsorship—thank you so much. Please keep them coming 🙏🏻

☀️💦 Water Safety Reminder 💦☀️

With the warmer weather and summer now upon us, many children will be spending more time around pools, rivers, lakes, beaches and other open water.

This is a great time to talk to children about staying safe around water. Simple messages can help prevent accidents and save lives:

✅ Always swim with an adult present
✅ Never enter the water alone
✅ Wear appropriate flotation devices when needed
✅ Follow local safety signs and rules
✅ Stay away from deep or fast-moving water unless supervised
✅ Know what to do in an emergency

Water can be great fun, but it should always be treated with respect. Please take a few moments to share these important safety messages with your children, family and friends.
Let's work together to keep everyone safe and enjoy a happy, healthy summer. ☀️🌊

Our Reception class have been learning all about healthy foods! 🍎🥕🍌

We explored lots of different fruits and vegetables and talked about why they are good for our bodies. The children then worked together to create instructions for how to make a healthy fruit smoothie. 🥤

We loved prepping the foods, carefully following the instructions, and best of all… trying the delicious smoothies we made! 😋✨

What a fantastic way to learn about staying healthy!
