My prayers & thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those afflicted in last night's horrific attack in London.

Once again, I salute the response of our police, and other blue light services, the Army and the amazing support from good citizens who have offered immediate help to survivors fleeing from this atrocity.

Many of us think that campaigning should not stop because, to do so, would signal victory for terrorism. We did not stop going about our daily way of life during IRA attacks, so why should we now?

Some feel that these attacks are trying to stop / change our election. We must not let them stop us. We must continue to stay united against any attacks on our country, it's people, democracy and our freedoms.

Do not let any murderers disrupt our society and destroy our values. Let us continue to support those affected but keep calm & carry on. Absolutely, we continue living as usual.

Its chilling to see for the first time, British citizens being made to walk with their hands on their heads at police gunpoint.

Terrorist related brutality has no place in our country or our cities. My prayers are for all those affected including the emergency workers, NHS teams and the volunteers helping Londoners tonight & in the coming weeks. #

Enjoying canvassing in and meeting up with neighbours who tell me what their concerns are and asking how I can help. Its the same issues across Leicester East.

Lack of adequate social care, hardship for carers on minimum pay, lack of permanent jobs & permanent affordable housing, long wait for GP appointments, hospital cuts leading to lowered safe staffing levels in wards, pay caps & insufficient job protection for nurses & carers, cuts to local services by Labour city council, low pay including zero contract hours, fewer childcare places & cuts to benefits, street drinking, drugs & ASB, homelessness, poor parking and lack of co-ordinated bus routes.

This is only a small amount of the HUGE TAX AVOIDANCE BILL, carried out in the UK by British & non British tax dodgers which is being shamefully passed on to the most vulnerable!

However, it's the most vulnerable who get clobbered and made to pay for the greed & criminality from disgraceful fat cats & bankers!

It's an outrage that over half the people living in poverty are the disabled, young and elderly.

That situation is getting worse with these devastating & continued attacks, disguised as AUSTERITY CUTS, on our most vulnerable.
