🚒 Vehicle Fire Safety Reminder 🚒
Today, crews from Western Station Red Watch attended a vehicle fire. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and the incident was brought under control quickly.
This serves as a reminder to all motorists to be aware of the warning signs that could indicate a vehicle fire:
⚠️ Unusual burning smells
⚠️ Smoke coming from the engine bay or under the vehicle
⚠️ Electrical faults, flickering lights, or repeated blown fuses
⚠️ Fluid leaks, especially fuel or oil
⚠️ Engine overheating
If you notice any of these signs while driving:
✅ Pull over as soon as it is safe to do so
✅ Turn off the engine
✅ Get everyone out of the vehicle immediately
✅ Move to a safe distance away from the vehicle
✅ Call 999 and request the Fire Service
❌ Do not attempt to tackle a well-developed vehicle fire yourself.
❌ Do not open the bonnet if smoke or flames are visible, as this can cause the fire to intensify.
Regular vehicle maintenance and acting quickly when warning signs appear can help prevent serious incidents.
