1F (City of Leicester) ATC is incredibly proud to share that our own Cadet FS B. Beaumont has successfully completed his Cadet Warrant Officer Interview and has been promoted to the rank of CWO, effective immediately.

CWO Beaumont continually impresses staff and cadets with his determination, leadership, and overall ability, and we couldn’t think of anyone more deserving of the rank!

Congratulations CWO on this amazing achievement! You’ve done us and yourself proud!

🚨🎉 New Appointment Alert 🎉🚨

1F (City of Leicester) ATC, are proud to share that CI A Cala, has been appointed to the uniformed role of Sergeant RAFAC.

The now Sgt. Cala has been an integral part of 1F since joining the squadron just 2 ½ years ago as a Civilian Instructor (CI).

In preparation for this achievement, Sgt. Cala, had to attend and pass both a pre-uniform course, pre-filter interview and finally a board interview with Wing staff.

Congratulations Sgt. Cala, on your amazing success, we look forward to you continued amazing work on the squadron!

This weekend our incredible Air Cadets took on their Bronze First Aid course — and what a finale it was! 💪🚑

As the final weekend course of the year, the cadets rose to the challenge with confidence, teamwork and determination. From lifesaving skills to real-world scenarios, they gave it their all… and we’re proud to say every single candidate PASSED! 🏅👏

A huge well done to all involved — your hard work, focus and resilience truly paid off. This is exactly the standard we love to see in our cadets 👏✨

Tonight some of our cadets took adventure training to new heights during an action-packed indoor climbing and bouldering session at Beaumanor Hall! 💪🔥

From first-time climbers to seasoned pros, everyone stepped out of their comfort zone, pushed their limits, and supported each other all the way to the top. The energy, teamwork, and confidence on the walls today was incredible to see.

A huge well done to every cadet who got involved—you showed great determination, courage, and squadron spirit. 🌟

✈️ Last night 1F hosted members of East Midlands University Royal Naval Unit (EMURNU). 🏴‍☠️

Cadets from 1F heard from URNU cadets and staff about the plethora of opportunities available to them, from the sponsored-undergraduate schemes such as the Defence STEM Undergraduate Sponsorship and University Cadet Entry scheme, to careers in Medicine, other degree-apprenticeship opportunities as well as having the opportunity to talk with URNU cadets about their experiences and their plans for future military and civilian careers!

1F were even able to challenge our guests to some friendly leadership competitions in the process!

Remembrance Sunday 2025
Yesterday, cadets and staff from 1F (City of Leicester) Squadron, RAF Air Cadets proudly took part in two Remembrance Day parades.

In the morning, we joined the city’s main service at Leicester’s Victoria Park, marking 100 years of the Leicester War Memorial — a century of honouring those who gave their lives for our freedom.

In the afternoon, we continued our tributes by supporting the Oadby Remembrance Parade, standing alongside our local community in remembrance of the fallen.

Our cadets represented the squadron with pride, respect, and professionalism throughout the day.

We will remember them. 🌺

🌄 A Busy and Proud Weekend for Our Cadets! 🇬🇧

Last weekend was a fantastic and meaningful one for our cadets!

A group of our young people successfully completed their DofE Bronze Expedition, showing brilliant teamwork, determination, and resilience as they tackled challenging routes and camped out in the great outdoors. Their effort and positive attitude truly reflected the spirit of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. 💪🎒

At the same time, a smaller group of cadets had the honour of taking part in the Festival of Remembrance, proudly representing our unit as they paid tribute to those who have served and sacrificed for our country. ❤️

We couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved — your hard work, dedication, and sense of pride continue to shine through everything you do. 👏

Big day for our cadets — they’re taking to the skies for their first Air Cadet flight!
For many, it’s the first time in a cockpit, learning the basics of flight and seeing the world from above.

Nerves? Maybe.
Excitement? Definitely.
An experience they’ll never forget? Absolutely.
